As you listed in your areas of interest “Saguaro National Park” I’d definitely focus on that. Best opportunity for hitting the rut in the time frame you’re working with. Just make sure to stay within the boundaries of the Saguaro National Park not outside of them. AZGFD watch that outside area surrounding pretty hard.

Does anyone have a 36A hunt? Look me up if you come out to Scout the area. I'm living on the Marley Ranch and don't have a tag. So maybe I can point you in the right direction. Not a guide and not looking for compensation. just want to be involved.

Funny when I see a dad post about his kids drawing a tag and mentioning both coues and mule deer I assume he’s talking about a youth hunt with any antlered deer…but with my two kids and youth hints that’s probably just where my head is I’ll PM some info on 35a starting points. I’ve seen coues and mule deer in the same areas and also javelina.

I only clicked on this because I thought it was BC777 or Naturegirl.

I’d suggest maybe going just a little further south, maybe 70-75 miles from Tucson. A lot less pressure.

Busy working dad whose kids finally drew a deer tag. The boys have worked hard at their summer jobs and bought their own rifles and paid for their tags. As a father I am so excited to make life long meteorites and hopefully instill a lifelong passion for the outdoors and wildlife conservation. We plan to hunt the last 5 days of season and since we are out of state do not have time to scout. We want to focus on Coues but if a nice mulie came along we would capitalize for sure! We also plan to pick up a javelina tag just in case. If you have hunted unit 35a or know this unit we would really appreciate any advice that would help shorten the learning curve and increase our odds for success. Any other must haves, watch outs, or advice would mean the world to us!

Any details on deer hunt in your neck of Spill the beans on the GA deer hunts. Then… I’ll post some generic snipet cut from the AZGFd site here.

Truthfully, your best bet on info is the unit breakdown on the azgfd website. Also - out of staters coming to hunt OTC archery is kind of a sensitive subject on here. Many residents blame nonresidents for tag reductions, overcrowding, and less opportunity as more OTC hunts are going to a draw. Just a heads up if you have a hard time getting info. I’ll be nice and tell you - you can’t hunt the Saguaro National Park. Be aware of the illegal activity. Anywhere south of I10 and you are in an area that has border traffic. Be safe out there.

I could not disagree more and if your only point of reference is our MVD, just maybe I can sorta understand your comment, but let me enlighten you. We moved here from Mass. The RMV there is a shoot show of biblical proportions. 2-3 hours at the RMV is the norm. My SIL, who still lives there, told me this story just a few weeks ago. And let's not forgot our real estate taxes were 7k per year (2007) on a 1900SF house on a 1/5 acre when we lived there. Those taxes are now 10k per year. Or my BFF in VA (where I used to live) who bought car last Dec. Took him 4+ months to get it registered so he could drive it legally. He had to complain to the Gov.'s office and it was resolved the next week. No online registration possible there and he could not get an appt. at the DMV. I bought a car last July. Registered it here (with a CA title) online and got the AZ title and tags within a couple weeks, long before my AZ temp tag expired. Eddie

If they have a youth hunt in 35A hunt #1169 they can hunt any antlered deer.

I have done my level best to understand them. We drew a youth tag and the way it was explained to me was we could shoot either. We certainly will have this clarified before season. Our intention was to focus on Coues anyway. None of us have even seen one much less hunted one. Thanks for your time. So much to learn.

I think you have the dates dialed in. You can pretty much camp just about anywhere you want. Good Luck and enjoy it, AZ is addicting.

I’m sure you’ve got a lot of places in mind to find sheep there but there are some other off the grid places that sometimes hold great rams that get overlooked. Shoot me a PM if you’re interested. A different member had the hunt several years ago and ended up shooting a pretty good ram in the direction i pointed him.

Burning, burning, burning!! (I've got a late rifle bull tag up in that area.....) Regarding the elk hunting, I feel like at the end of the day the fires may not necessarily impact it too much at a macro level. There will be areas that will be 100% scorched, but hopefully some unburned pockets here and there as well. If we get decent rain this year, there just might be lots of yummy green stuff for the elk in those burned areas. S.

Why make a list of good guys?? The list will be smaller if you just call out the bad guys.... Most on here have easy smooth transactions. Lets not make this like ebay where you get a score based on your selling.
