I thought, technically, a hunting license is considered written permission to be on STL.

Could never trust a person like this...

You guys would complain if they hanged you with a new rope....jeez. Don't like it? Don't buy a raffle ticket. No need to $#!+ on the post of a great organization who does more for wildlife than 99.9% of you. These Axisworks built .45 Cal MLs shoot like this...

Oh believe me I know I’m just chit posting

You’re correct, but posting a lot doesn’t mean you’re contributing. For example, you post a lot, but I wouldn’t call it a contribution, I’d put most of it in the “garbage poster” category.

Should archery hunts be limited to 40 yard shots? For some people, absolutely. But equipment has changed, practiced archers are out there, and I hear of 100 yard shots. Muzzleloaders have changed. A 600 yard ML is quite common. Rifles have changed. 1000+ shots are common. Rangefinders, optics, packs, vehicles, etc. have all upped the game. Hard to draw the line. Cams have already been outlawed. No need to push MORE regs. Self control is where we need to push ourselves.

I'm hoping for another reminder I got short term memory loss

Then where do you draw the line at for rifle hunts? 750 is a chip shot for some folks (not me of course)

I think the point people are pointing out is - what's the point of having a specific hunt for muzzleloaders when they perform just like rifles? I thought the hole idea for having hunts specific for muzzleloaders was because they weren't effective out to the range of a rifle. They challenge you to cut the distance to 100-200 yards (for most) vs being able to shoot a deer from 750 yards. It defeats the purpose if you ask me. Just make the hunt a rifle hunt and if you want to use your super long range muzzleloader on a rifle hunt, then more power to ya.

Let's go with this: Archery - NO Compound Bows Muzzle - Flint only Rifle - 4x scope max No Spotting Scopes. No Radios Get off your butt and walk. Are you happy . Things change and we need to adapt.

Exactly. ...I don't hunt anymore, sitting on points and trying to get drawed. I thought this was a fishing forum. ..

the sketchyness is what makes it great to some of us. again, thats why when you go down there youre usually surrounded by cool mf'ers not mommas boys.

I choose to never go down there again. When the State Dept recommends against it, a couple is kidnapped in Agua Prieta the same weekend I was there, and the Mormon Family was executed a few months later ... that is three strikes and I'm outta there.

I'm going to play the devils advocate. what exactly has some of these "guys done for the hunting community". we tend to see this all the time people saying so and so was a good guy.. Just because someone is a good guy doesn't mean everyone has to like them. if someone leaves it doesn't mean that people on the board ran them off. what it means is they cant handle a difference of opinions or being questioned on things,

Let’s make it interesting and go with flintlock

That's where it's going. Give a inch take a mile. Hey what's legal is legal. But times are changing. We a know less tags is the solution, not more restrictions and regulations.

The thick irony is the people that always claim the good posters left either rarely contribute themselves or are the garbage posters that scare people off. Trophyseeker, prime example
