Daughter sent me this about 2 hours ago. fire got out of control next to the runway where she works at Camp pendelton. I guess there evacuating part of the base, called the Kilo fire.

With the scorching earth temps coming and the draw a ways off I thought I'd share some walk about photos from the early part of the year since I wont be going back in for awhile. While waiting for the fog to lift during a cold day in January, I glassed up this little treasure precariously perched on a small hillside. Being that is was a canyon over and I was standing in 8" of snow, I left it until the spring. Spring rolls around, it gets hot and sheer cliff shed hunting is way harder than it looks. We had an idea of its location but it took some doing to find it. Sneaky sucker this one.. Finally liberated it from its hillside prison...... Sadly, based on its condition, about five years too late. After the rescue mission, we noticed some gang signs from the OG hunters. A few more One of my favorites some obligatory ATLs to finish the trip Not a huge haul. Always find cool stuff in those hills. Daaamn sure wouldn't want to actually kill a bull in there without access to a Chinook and a seasoned pilot but, its nice to visit. Be safe out there and thanks for looking Dave

I thought I was the only one who does that. Makes a huge difference in ride quality. I think the air gets worn out over time.

Make sure you change the winter air out of your car tires too, and put in summer air. The density of the air is different and messes up tread wear that can lead to flat tires during the hot months...

I read this on a FB page. (Of course, finding anything on the WMAT web page is pointless) "The White Mountain Apache reservation is going into stage 2 fire restrictions starting on Thursday, June 10th. This means that they are closing all of their remote waters. This includes Christmas Tree Lake, Reservation and everything past it, including Drift Fence, Pacheta and all the small streams back there. It is my understanding that Hawley, Earl Park, Big Bear/ Little Bear, Bog Tank, Horseshoe, A1, Sunrise, Upper Log, Lower Log and Ditchcamp will remain open. This information is just coming out and there could be more closures than what is listed. We will know more in the next day or two."

No, didn't give up. My tact just isn't that 'speculative'. (Though I guess ALL stock market purchases are speculative by nature.....). I just bought low earlier in the year when it was in the toilet, and it's tucked into my portfolio with all of the other paper to just sort of sit there. Don't plan on selling, buying, selling, buying, etc.. Don't have the time or emotional energy to chase all of that up and down. LOL I used to play around with stocks much more. I realized though that simply trying to buy on the dips and sell on the peaks didn't work for me over time when the market in general continued to grow year after year. Took-up too much brain power to try to pretend I knew more than I knew. Sort of like several other parts of my life. lol If I want to tend to my gambling bug, I'll sit down at the blackjack table with a $1000 in chips and feel like a winner if I can make it last for 5 hours while splitting a few eights & aces along the way!
