Well it's that time of year again. If you're anything like me you spend most of your time thinking about the up coming draw. Looking over old pics and videos reliving past hunts. Staying up searching for new potential honey holes on Google Earth. Trying to figure out where to put in for ect ect.... I love it! It's also that time of year when I like to make youtube videos and share them with my fellow coues nuts on CW.COM. I just finished putting together a video of my cousin's 2020 Dec hunt where he got his biggest buck to date this beautiful 4x5. The hunt started off slow with us being fogged in most of the morning. It wasn't until around 10am the fog would finally start lifting. Shortly after the fog clearing we found his buck about a mile out feeding with another buck. We watch him for awhile trying to figure out if he was a opening day shooter or not. To be honest I was hoping my cousin wouldn't want to go after him not because I didn't think he was a good buck but because I didn't want to be done hunting so early. After about an hour the bucks ended up dropping down in a small canyon out of sight. Not knowing exactly where they went we knew our chances of relocating the buck was not very good but we still decided to go after him. So we packed up and a couple hours later we found ourselves overlooking the canyon where we last saw the buck. We spent the next 3 hours taking apart the canyon with little luck. Only finding 4 or 5 does and one small buck. We did glass up a 4 point shed which we later found out was from this buck which was pretty cool. Anyways just when I thought we weren't going to relocate the buck Dallas turned him up across the canyon at about 300 yards and the rest is history. Video link should be below check it out if you got the time. Apparently it's not as good as I thought because the last time I checked it already had one dislike with only 10 views. Let me know what you think. Is this video really worthy of a thumbs down or did a vegan just happen to stumble across it? Thanks!

I’ve been hesitant to talk about this but my wife passed away last Friday 4-30-21. She was 38 years old. Hesitant because it still isn’t real. Hesitant because it was personal and I wanted to tell everyone I knew personally in person. Hesitant because I’m not really good dealing with condolences. Hesitant because I’m used to her and I taking on the world! Kristin, I love you so much! We’re not big internet people, at least I’m not babe! Lol. These guys are rough but sincere, I know you’ll like them and you’ve met quite a few.

Thanks again everyone. I’m not usually social about stuff but thought this might be the time and place. Again, thank you all. Life sucks but this messed up dysfunctional family here really helps!! Honestly it does.

I am very sorry for your and the rest of the family and friends loss. I am not sure what happens when we die, but the ones that love and cherish us are left with a lot of pain, which I am sure you are in. God Bless you. Andy

Like they’re saying, the buck died in the velvet and it has since been removed one way or another. Please say it a coues. We need a good conspiracy around here

What Curtis said. Just my experience, but if you enclose it, you might not need a heater. I have the teryx 4 and am super happy with it. I built my own enclosure and find that it is plenty warm in the winter. I have only had it out in the high 20s low 30s, but it was good enough for my wife. it was not HOT inside, but it was "comfortable". Once the engine heats up of course. and I am a BIG fan of a glass windshield

FYI - In my experience, you won’t need a heater. The heat generated from the engine is enough on most models to make it uncomfortably hot anyway.

if you are not hunting the BO just kinda positon yourself in the approx. center of a big area a place like the 6 road above the R&R tracks give you options to go in 4 directions - any of which can be prime elk habitat best to start scouting for camp options now - less traffic and still possibilities of seeing elk in early mornings or late evenings - check the NEW road closure map as they do have designated camping areas you've got a great tag - one of the issues is you may not be able to go 2-3 places in a day - go ahead of time find a few herds of cows and then pick a spot . just remember any of the side roads can get muddy and rough even for the most prepared hunter. Unit 10 can be one of the worse to travel in if rains hit and roads turn to mud if hunting the BO go prepared, as once you go in your probably going to stay till you've tagged out - the farther north and remote you go the better
