I'd get myself a bunch of grappling hooks and dredge the lakes. Rumor has it that many have recently fallen overboard

Well Grizzly1022 sounds like we need to invest in a spotter. Not sure the 15’s will get it done. Grizzly1022 is my son. Thanks for the advice fellas

Why cut off 50% of the unit to save $100?

I would 100% buy the access. You will regret not spending the 110$ if you are having a hard time locating a good antelope outside of the Bo. Why restrict your hunting area for such a small price? Seems like a no brainer for me.

Will be hunting 6b youth Gobblers with my 11y.o daughter. Anyone know when Coconino forest service roads open? According to their website. The 231 road is closed still. Sorry for the ignorance we usually hunt unit 8 for youth turkey.

https://youthoutdoorsunlimited.com/jrturkeycamp/ May be a good resource if you aren’t getting on birds. Good luck

It's Antelope! You can literally glass them up from 10 miles away pretty easy. Plan on getting up there a week before your hunt to get the lay of the land. Good luck on your hunt.

Not sure which is worse...rattlers climbing in boats or cottonmouths dropping out of trees into the boat when I was a kid. I might take a rattler over a cottonmouth...

Is it just me or does it look like the snake can reach his hands from this angle

Yes, yes, & yes. Odds are you won't get another tag for 8-10 years. Make the best of what you've got. Congrats on the tag.

Not much different than raising game birds, putting them in a paint shaker and planting them in a field for guys to hunt. Hunting them is not the same as wild birds but its the only practical choice for many and many of us have done it and enjoy it. What about stocked trout? These animals are raised just so we can catch/shoot/consume them, Just saying, we have many examples of similar enough examples that many of us enjoy. Not going to look down at someone that does any hunt that is legal. IMO the antler hunts dredge up the same envy we see with auction tags, guided hunts, expensive reservation hunts, etc. To each his own - don't let the anti's divide us.

A guy is out fishing and runs out of bait. He sees a snake that slithered into his boat with a frog in his mouth. He’s fishing for big fish, so he thinks the frog should do for bait. He picks up the snake close to its head, and the snake goes limp enough for him to take out the frog. Well, the fisherman didn’t think too far ahead with his bait grabbing and finds himself holding a live snake. Not knowing what else to do, he gives the snake some of his Jack Daniel’s and the snake goes limp once again. So the fisherman throws it out of the boat and goes back to fishing. After a few minutes he feels something on his foot and looks down. It's the snake again, this time with two more frogs!

Today's tip is any brown, motor oil TR mid lake, put the boat in 10..12..foot and pull them in. Could probably get them on a swimming jig, chatter bait or a blade also. Just depends on what you want to do and how fast you want to burn though them. Cheers...
