4 pointsUm no, actually it hasn't. Just because it has the last few years doesn't mean it has always happened.

3 pointsSounds like you are... Where do you come off calling those of us who aren't happy with how this is being done as "complainers"? FYI, in case you didn't realize, the G&F made over the cost of 50 full time employees at an expense of $55K/year each, on this draw alone! That's astounding! That's $2.782M on app fees alone, or over 100,000 paid MHs! That doesn't include the $10M (perhaps more) made in hunting licenses and tag fees on this draw. I for one am also calling BS on the excuse of 17,000 "additional" applicants... SO WHAT, that's only a 10% increase in last year's elk/antelope draw. An electronic system, which we have now, should be able to handle 100x that number with ZERO IMPACTS, Besides, how does this year's elk/antelope application numbers compare to last year's deer, bighorn, turkey, bison, etc. applications? More excuses... As far as your comment, "making what the folks at the G&F do...." remember this. They're all STILL EMPLOYED! Not everyone is!! Not only that, they work for us, and the G&F is a State Agency that is supposed to have accountability for how they run "their operation". If it weren't for us (through license and tag fees), none of them would be employed, but they act as though we work for them! I seriously doubt we'll ever hear what was done wrong, or how they're going to improve on the obvious mistakes made this year. If the G&F was a private company competing with other private companies they'd be out of BUSINESS by now! As far as it not making any difference to you in your planning process, I'm happy for you. Remember however that there are many out here that can not reasonably afford to apply in another state and possibly end up in tags for both (I made the same point over a week ago about the same thing in another thread). Some of us have to budget our funds appropriately, and the g&f being late by what's going on two weeks now, is to me inexcusable. It reeks of incompetence, plain and simple. Note they also said that this may go into next week as well before the draw is held, which would be double the 17 days they had since the draw closed to hit the "DRAW" button (when CCs could no longer be updated, which is another topic all together). So, we pay them very well, every year, yet they still don't appear to have the draw system figured out? There is no reason that this system shouldn't be flawless by now. I for one don't trust them. Know I used to work for a State Agency and know full well the corruption that was and can be prevalent in State Agencies that the public will never know about. BTW, it's not all bad, and I personally have and will continue to hunt with past G&F WMs, great friends! They worked very hard and were committed to their professions, as I am. What I'm referring to above is how the current draw system needs to be corrected, and perhaps have the supervisors and department heads held accountable for their work. They also should IMO have a change of attitude towards us in general knowing full well the department should be accountable for the services WE fund, period. Why not trying to BE HONEST WITH US for a change!

3 pointsI just broke the news to my dad about what happened, over the phone I could totally tell how bum out he was. But being the great father he is, he told me not to beat myself up over it. He did make a good suggestion - That Game & Fish should allow us to put a backup CC on file in case if your first CC gets denied for whatever reason. I feel like Game & Fish really needs to hear our public opinions to better serve their customers.

3 pointsI don't like the wait either, but are we whining about what iffs just because we are bored and there are no good local poaching stories lately? This is actually serious question, not an attack on anyone: Do that many people really have "credit card issues" that often? I know there is the concern about "what if", but with tens of thousands of people applying, how many are ACTUALLY affected by "credit card issues"? I have never had a credit card issue so just wondering how common it is amongst the common folk. and I will say it again, I hope all you deadbeats get your cards declined so I can get my primo 4b tag. 3 more weeks of delay game and fish! I SUPPORT YOU !!!!!!!!

3 pointsWhen it was mail in and a check was required, I used a money order that was pre- paid and since I have used a pre-paid money card. The wife could over draw the checking or the credit card and business as usual for me.
-
3 pointsLook, I hate being a G&F defender but nowhere does G&F say, "the draw will take place the day after the credit card update deadline." It's been really smooth the last few years and we have all been spoiled but it's not a date set in stone. I wish the cards would get hit the day after too but only because I WANT TO KNOW.

2 pointsPure soy boy because he posted on FB or because he was waiting for AAA? Both is a reason to kick him in the fleshy sack where his balls should be.

2 pointsThe state of arizona has legislation that says GF can’t take money up front. It’s not a game and fish thing it’s a state law. It doesn’t apply just to game and fish but it’s a gaming rule. So unless that changes they can’t take money up front on a card
-
2 pointsI understand that AZGFD is not required to draw the day after credit card update deadline. However, what function does the credit card update deadline serve if there is (right now at least) a 2 week gap between that date and when they conduct the draw? If they don't draw right after the credit card update deadline then all they are doing is creating a mess with people having card issues in the time between the deadline and the draw.

2 pointsThe prepaid card is the only way to be sure. I don't believe Arizona will ever go to pay upfront due to state laws prohibiting taking money without providing a service or product. It's a pain but one which gives a person a little peace of mind. I personally wish Arizona would charge up front because I think it would limit the number of applicants. Would definitely limit some from putting in every family member with a pulse for a tag to sign over. Anyhoo good luck in getting your issue fixed.

2 pointsI'm not trying to start a keyboard war with you or anyone else on here. I'm pointing out a huge flaw with the Game and Fish system and hoping to improve it. Don't lie... you know dang well if this happen to you, you would be expressing your frustration on how poorly our system is designed. BTW if it has to come down to buying a prepaid card to eliminate zero risks, then we have a long ways to go before we see improvement with our G&F system. Please don't utter the words "common scene" to me when our department has none.

2 pointsthats the problem, too many people that dont care about anything until its on your door step.
-
2 pointsRight on the money. This is exactly my point on the trail camera issue, no matter which side of the aisle your on. Once people realize they can take something away, there is no limit on what they will go after. People then get up in arms when it is an issue that will affect them but where the heck were they when it was an issue that didn't concern them......

1 pointI wonder if the same IT group that undoubtedly screwed up portals and the draw, was also responsible for the MVD overhaul last spring?? Although my portal with AZGFD has seemed correct thus far, my experience with AZDMV has been quite the opposite.
-
1 pointSure would be a heck of a time for your first credit card issue. My wife got a call from the back saying there had been fraud on her card.

1 pointi get that, and its not the "delayed" charges that upset me so much as just the fact that they shoot the bed again.

1 point10x10 is a two man tent. rule of thumb. If the MFG list their tent as a 4 man, its really 2 man
