7 pointsWhen my wife has a tag, it really is the most enjoyable hunts out of the year. We set up camp Thursday evening and I was able to locate a herd at last light miles away. Friday morning we perched ourselves 800ish yard away from the last sighting. We were watching 3 bucks when the herd of pigs walked by them bout 730 and the stalk was on. They dropped down deep into a cut, with the wind and grass causing issues we got the wind right and went right at em and she took a 33 yard shot. Hopefully the video works out, this pig took a sleeping pill through her whole body 👍 FullSizeRender.mov

6 pointsWow, that's quite a leap Sir Royal!! Something is going to be done with the cams, Az isn’t the only state having issues with them. I like the idea of a season, but don’t care if they go for a ban. Doesn’t seem possible to have a real discussion on it as people’s emotions seem to take over and conspiracy theories start emerging. I didn’t need cams for my first 30+ years of hunting and don’t need them going forward. I have enjoyed them but they are not necessary to my success or enjoyment of my time in the hills.

4 pointsPayson has gone nuts on real estate. Double wide's in very old neighborhoods going over 200 G. I don't see anything changing anytime soon even in an economic downturn. People from California move here and call what we have here "affordable". I feel bad for the young blue collar people that would like to live here, there is no affordable inventory to purchase or rent.

3 pointsMy buddy and I’s first rifle javelina. Have two skulls, both have tags. anybody have beetles that need feeding?

3 points2020 Coues deer 2020 was a very long year with the bow. In January I had multiple decent bucks get away and really set my focus on early archery to kill one. For whatever reason, I had decided to only apply for late December tags (which was pointless) so I knew I needed to get it done with the bow. Early archery in august came and I missed a big buck on the first day, then two weeks later I ended up missing the same buck again. Spent some time looking for him in December but he didn't want to play. A buddy of mine, Reyes, did have a Late Dec tag in the unit so I went to glass with him. We didnt get out until it was close to Xmas. On this day, we never saw anything he was willing to shoot (although i tried my best to convince him...yeah im that friend). As it was getting later in the afternoon, I found a small buck across the canyon from us, around 400 yards away. Reyes passed yet again so the door was open. At one point, the buck had worked himself to a good spot and I told Reyes "If he beds there, I'm gonna have to go after him" and of course the buck beds haha. I pack up my stuff and drop into the canyon, where I left my pack and start working uphill to the buck. At one point I look up and the buck is just standing 5 yards from where he was bedded, I was about 200 yards away at this point. Not sure if he was just sunning himself in the last bit of light or what but he turns around and beds right back where he was before. I keep sneaking in until I'm 60 yards from where the buck is bedded, although I can't see him. I knelt there for a minute then decided to get closer. This is when all coues stalks normally go south but for whatever reason, I couldn't do anything wrong this time. The next spot I settle is around 20 yards from where I think the buck is bedded. I range his areas to walk out and everything is sub 30. I have a pretty big boulder in front of me and all of a sudden, antlers appear above the top of the rock! I draw back, the buck walks out and hes walking straight away, then he takes a big step to his right to go broadside, before he stopped the arrow was on the way. Arrow went through both lungs and stuck in his offside shoulder so he dropped right where he was. I guess I needed a shot at 26 yards to get it done! It was cool that Reyes got to watch everything go down and watch me kill a coues at such close distance. He's a great friend so he didn't mind me hijacking his hunt for a little bit haha. I did get to return the favor for him a week later and he filled his tag on a nice 3x3. ^^^^^^^^^^Reyes' buck^^^^^^^^^ 2021 Javelina Fast forward to Jan 4. I go back to look for the buck I keep missing. Find him before the sun is up and he disappears over the ridge so I pursue (like a dipstick). End up blowing him out as I cross the saddle, he was feeding or bedded just 30 yards over the top. I was not very happy with myself at this point so I decided to hike over to where i knew some pigs hung out. I get to the area, I'm sitting there and I hear a sqwuak below me, then I hear it again. I throw up my binos and a young javelina walks out under a mesquite, 100 yards below me. Glassing around I see an adult get up, round up the little one and disappear. I drop down, sneak around and start crawling into where they were. I'm crawling through and cannot find a pig, tracks were all over so I knew there were more than the two i saw. I literally crawl through where i had just seen them and nothing. I stand up and stand walking around, finally I find one feeding on a prickly pear. All I could see was its butt sticking out, he was chomping away so sneaking in was pretty easy. I was at 12 yards and waiting for almost 10 minutes before i could get an arrow in (YES thats how deep he was in prickly pear haha). Felt good to salvage the day and have meat for tamales

3 pointsI agree that the overreaching can get out of control but this is a stretch. Banning cameras leads to no hunting? There is a real argument to be made that it will lead to better "hunting". Maybe less taking of a targeted animal and fewer trophy guides out there. Anyone that has been to the bab, strip, 9 or 10 for elk that didn't have a guide with them knows the misery of the cameras and guides use of them during seasons. Just because they may change the way you have become accustomed to hunting doesn't mean it's all coming to an end.

3 pointsYou might as well kiss hunting goodby in your lifetime friend! Because now they have brought to the forefront fearful SAFETY issues in hunting starting as simple as a trail cam ban , Now 2 hunters arguing over a hunting spot with guns oh my now they are gonna shoot each other and or beat each other to death (SAFETY ) it could happen so lets stop it now ! Now maybe we should we ban guns because they can hurt another hunter or ourselves or an innocent bystander . IT DOESNT STOP! What about those bullets that miss their target with no proper backstop . SAFETY What about that arrow that just missed its intended animal. Where did it go oops it could of hit a hunter or bystander , I mean come on there is alot more people in the woods now days its dangerous ( SAFETY) Have they ever considered adding TRAIL CAM ethics to the hunter education safety course 1st. Teach our hunting public the standard . So now we should ban cars because a 16 year old might race with it and kill himself. No you educate him about the hazards . If he messes up you take his car away. Hmmm Laws only work if their enforceable and have consequences and those that follow the laws understand that. Any Trail cam ban will be unenforceable because you cant (Hunter ) but he can (Nonhunter) GAME & FISH has opened up a can of worms anything to do with hunting can now be based on a safety issue anti's are gonna love this one! What a bunch of foolish men like yourself that have bought into it! Shame on you Start selling your guns and bows its a Public Hazard based on the AZGFD LETTER. THE REPERCUSSION DOES NOT STOOOOOOP! It will echo through our hunting world for years to come.

3 pointsSo new guys join in with very little history and a few post as members and start bashing old Sir Royal......Wow, sad and not the Coueswhitetail way! The question is what did AZGFD do before Dec 4, 5-0 vote to start the complete ban?? Not hearsay- 2nd or 3rd person removed assumptions... Please share a link of any such items as the reopening of an emergency rule making to solve the critical public safety concern to maintain trail cameras! Again specific use of trail cameras for public advisement in 2018-2019 or 2020 up until December 4th. Such as public education- ethics- fair chase use of cameras- roles & responsibilities- solve conflicts at water sources and hunter interactions- disturbance of wildlife- photos of others- damage or thief's- selling of cam images- and even our few high profile units when to many cameras being used- per an individuals liking.

3 pointsHow inronic checking trail cameras is an unsafe activity. Yet the 1200 rifle tags in 6a this year alone. Completely safe. Bwahahahhahahahahahahh

3 pointsConflict between hunters over cams? I wonder what could have gave them that idea....certainly not from OP's 10 page thread about finding people that stole his cams im not saying OP was wrong in that thread but why be surprised now about conflict

2 pointsgive it a few months. The housing market is set for a major downturn when all the landlords foreclose from the covid free loaders. I almost rented my house out to move up north this time last year. Glad i didn't.

2 pointsTrail Cams will soon be Banned in Arizona, no doubt about it! The reason they will be banned is because a lot of guides have chosen to cover units water sources with hundreds of cams at a time so they don't have spend extra time and money to locate the animal themselves with glassing and boot leather. This also allows Guides/DIY sportsman to have the sense that once they have a photo of the animal that it is now their animal and others should not be able to hunt that animal. When hunting season rolls around and multiple hunters know where the biggest animals are watering and at what time, this ultimately increases the chance that hunter conflicts will occur. Another reason Trail Cameras will be banned is because it is not fair chase. When setting trail cameras on all water sources and having them track the majority of animals throughout the entire unit while you are at home, or work is not what scouting/hunting was intended to be. To be in the field and present when an animal is found, or harvested is fair chase and what hunting should be. Another reason trail cameras will be banned and not the laser rangefinders, long range rifles/scopes, binoculars etc, is because you have to be with those items in the field to harvest that animal, and not at home sleeping. Another reason trail cameras will be banned is because Sir Royal does everything I just explained, and although he won't admit it I think the majority of sportsman are tired of it! 🙂

1 pointCongrats. I shot a 7-08 for many years shooting High Power Silhouette so I have a lot of respect for it.

1 pointIf you buy two Honda EU2200's, be sure one of them is the "Companion" model. The companion has the 30 amp connector for hooking up to your trailer. The two generators and the parallel kit are all you need if you go this way. They also sell a 12v cord if you want to be able to charge a battery with it.

1 pointWhen I had my camper I ran everything including the AC on a Champion 3100w inverter. It was great. they also make a dual fuel model which can run off gas or propane. It was pretty much as quiet as a Honda at more than 1/2 the price. You can get them for $600-$750 (regular model). Great generators.
