Those of you who go out shooting and leave you $&!= out there, I would love to talk to you!!!!! I am getting real tired of cleaning up your crap. If you have no respect for the outdoors, anybody else or yourself, do everybody a favor and go spend money at a freaking range where they will make you pick up your $&!=!!!! You are the reason we are loosing access to our public lands.

I split the cost of a 10'er today with my son for his birthday and he has a Chevy Colorado Crew Cab without any type of roof rack or any cutouts in the bedrails to dab up a bed rack.

Rely only on published data from reliable sources ie; powder an bullet manufacturers first of all !!!! Second if that's the powder you have pick a starting load, most data starts 10% or more from max loads, don't reduce more especially with slow powders. take your time, load a few (5 ish) in 1 grain or so increments (in a case that big with slow powder .5 gr increments will be hard to tell much, a primer change will be lots more evident). go shoot, check accuracy, its more important than jet wash (fps...) Third most loading manuals have a section in the front that details the process, good stuff there ! Every one has to start somewhere, have fun, be smart.

I and my friend were fishing Riggs Flat and just slaying them (Little Rainbows). We cooked a few that were foul hooked for lunch and let all the others go. We went back and continued to slay them on flies and finally decided to pack it in with a couple hours of daylight left. We pulled into shore and was planning to get the Blazer to load the boat. They came to the boat all friendly and asked how fishing was and what not. They were genuinely disappointed to not bust us for doing something nefarious. There were three of them, all in plain clothes. And do you think those guys would help us load the boat onto the top of my Blazer? They took off really quick as if there was others to bust. Hardly anyone was up there at the time. I think they may have sold the good ole boy situation to any others watching if they had helped the two old guys load the boat on top of the Blazer! I realize they deal with the bad guys much of the time and expect the worst. I find it a somewhat humorous story, though.

Hi all, New to the site, I wish I had found it years ago but didn't expect there to be this much elk talk on a Coues site! My nephew and I have 22N late rifle tags. We aren't exactly new to the unit, we've hunted it twice before, and we've had boots on the ground a few times already this summer and are headed back out this Saturday for an over-nighter. Both times we hunted it before we had my dad with us, which made for amazing trips, but at his age and mobility we were limited in how far we could get off the roads. After the last hunt he decided it was time to hang it up so this year it's just me and my nephew hunting together. It's hard to imagine a hunt without him there, but at the same time we can't wait to get the heck away from all the trucks and UTVs! If anyone with knowledge of the unit has interest in letting me pepper them with questions on areas, trails, access points, and ways to get away from motorized hunters, I'm more than happy to pay in beer, or info on hunting Oregon Muleys! I can name drop the places we've had boots on the ground so far if that helps. Not looking for animals this time of year just trying to learn the lay of the land and confirm glassing points to add to OnX.

Like someone stated. If they think it'll be less traffic at waterhole, wrong. Everyone I've ever seen , look for tracks and sign by walking around the tank and the different routes/trails the animals use. Most checking cameras , do just that. Dont waste time, they pull card and change it! , in and out. Yes way to many cameras in some units. To ban all cameras for so called harvesting an animal is total B.S.

From Duwane: Brett Kelly @couesicrew and I chased this buck for several days with different clients. One client missed this buck which was an absolute heartbreak. As a guide you know this is a once in a lifetime type of buck. Brett kept on this buck for five days. He is a tremendous glasser and has developed the ability to dig out big bucks. It would be no different with this monster. He continued to hide in really thick cuts but Brett stayed with it. The fifth day of hunting this brute would be the day that everything would change. Brett walked client Ron Maguire @rrmaguire Into this buck at 32 yards and Ron hammered him! Ron has paid his dues. He’s been out here about 6 different times with the OTC hunts, sometimes guided and sometimes on his own. He booked with us for the first time and this couldn’t have happened for a better guy. Anyone that knows Ron knows he has put in the hard work to set himself up for a buck like this. This buck is a true desert giant. This buck has ton of character with inlines, kickers and mass. Just a flat out stud buck and we couldn’t be happier for Brett and Ron. Great job and congratulations to the both you guys.

My Beretta A300 has served me well over the years for ducks, dove and quail. I saw that Dunn's has them on sale for $599. Might be worth a look? https://shopdunns.com/product/beretta-a300-outlander-12ga-3-28-barrel-black-synthetic-stock-semi-automatic-shotgun-j30tt18/

Got out Friday am and found myself in the right place at the right time, called a gobbler off the roost into two decoys and hammered him at 30 yards, done at 530 am and for breakfast and ad fresh turkey nuggets for lunch. Thanks

Finally got my kayak here (10ft Pelican) Wanted to check in and see what places to put in within an hour or so of Flagstaff. Really enjoy catching crappie, bass, and catfish out of it. If anyone is interested in meeting up, let me know. I used to fish bass tournaments back in college after my football career was cut short.

For me, backstrap and tenderloins get marinated, wrapped in bacon, and grilled. Everything else is processed into chorizo/sausage. Javelina is nothing short of excellent. Cut well beneath all the flank to avoid any scent glands and don't let the hide come in contact with the meat. I haven't shared Javelina with a single person that didn't enjoy it. And on topic, I can't resist.. To each their own but I have trouble respecting people that hunt game just to give/throw away the meat. Sharing whatever portion of it with people that need and/or appreciate it is another story. But go predator hunting if you just want to kill, and leave the game for harvesting.
