Nothing to do with the craziness going on, but I found boneless skinless chicken breasts today at $42 for a 40 pound box. Picked up 80 pounds and am helping to wife can/bottle chicken today. https://www.usfoods.com/why-us-foods/chef-store/tempe.html

My brother Robert came back down to look for the Mulie buck we glassed up last weekend when I filled my Javelina tag. We decided to sit a water source we found. We got to our spot well before daylight and sat in the Ranger talking of hunts past. After getting my Barronett Ground Pounder blind set up he moved the Ranger back a couple hundred yards. We continued our talk of yesteryear for a little while as we both thought we would not see much in the early morning hours, we'll that didn't happen. I just started to film a woodpecker when he whispered, "deer....buck" and the heart started pounding. I filmed as he slowly walked in and started to get a drink. Roberts shot was off a little but with the Swhacker broadheads that few inches didn't matter the buck didn't make it 40 yards leaving a highway of blood. After taking care of his buck we decided to sit a while longer and see if another would grace us with his presence. A few hours later we spotted a Javelina on the ridge above coming in to get a drink. Suddenly he turns about face and Trott off. At that point we could hear two guys talking as if they were 20 yards apart walking down the two-track. After a few words with them they continue on. A little after noon we decide to head in and take care of his buck. Driving out we jump up a real nice 4x4, so I bail out and give chase. I got about 90 yards before he dropped into a wash and disappeared. All in all a great day. Robert and have just recently gotten back to hunting together and this day makes #9, we have been successful 7 of those 9 days bringing home Mule Deer, Coues Deer, and Javelina. Here is the video.

It may be nothing but, im hearing some things that potentially this weekend or the next 2 weeks some shiz could be going down. I was told to make sure gas tanks are topped off, and to have enough food and commodities to last a few weeks. Also was told to be prepared to defend my home if need be. Even if its nothing enough people are talking about it that it could cause another run on stuff like tp and what not. Again, probably nothing but it dont hurt to be prepared.

FBI has already stated that armed protests are planned at all state capitols in and around the inauguration. It never hurts to be prepared.

Nice, Sean!!!!! I've taken-up canning/jarring over the past year or so. Did lots of pronghorn and bison last fall. Great way to prepare and store meat & veggies. Also the obvious ancillary benefit of saving freezer space! TOTALLY jealous of that king-sized pressure cooker you guys have!!

Arizona is a beautiful place. It is rich with outdoor interests and history from kingman to douglas. I am one of those non-residents that loves to spend my vacation time there......but so far I rarely hunt OTC. As I age, every opportunity to hunt is one thing I am looking forward to, before I am "aged-out." I will undoubtedly start pursuing the OTC tag while it exists, as my time is starting to free-up. In fact, I will probably move to AZ in a few years....the time is close I will be able to leave California- its simply horrible to live in a place where nobody shares your values or passion for the outdoors, let alone hunting. That being said, I understand all your views about the flood of non-residents coming. Its just not for the hunting, but for a better quality of life...but don't let me get you all started down that road. Please don't become like the utards and flip me off when you see my truck's plates headed toward you out in the field. I will respect your space and live by the golden rule, if we all do that, our hunting community will be a great place.. Good luck to you all the remainder of the season and stay safe!
