5 pointsWell got it done yesterday again like last year. I couldn’t pass on this one. Smacked him right at 27 yards quartering away and he didn’t run 50 yards. Scored him at around 110” and he’s a 2 point. Old deer too

2 pointsMy target archery friend who has never hunted before , decided he wanted to try for an OTC deer in august 2020. I took him to a few waterholes I knew and I helped him with the basics. He sat a tank for days and never saw one deer, so I sat him at another tank and he had a large 4x4 mulie come in, but it never provided a shot he felt would be fatal so he had to watch it walk away. About an hour later, a lone Coues buck (that he described as huge) came in and stood broadside at less than 30 yards. He clinked his arrow against the bow while drawing and it took off, leaving him with just the experience. He was pretty stoked and has been ready for another go. I couldn't go this past week, but he found his own spot with a nice tank that wasn't dry and he got his blind set up on Dec. 31st. At about 9:30 am on Jan 1st, 4 does and 3 bucks came in to his tank. He not only got the big one of the group, but he had mounted a camera to his bow and captured the shot. (He didn't tell me he had video till later-the sandbagger!!!) I am pretty sure he's going to be chomping at the bit to go again. I'll try to get a few better pics posted later. trimmed-GH010049.mov

2 pointsMy brother tagged his pig yesterday and decided to come down and give me a hand. Five minutes after I sit down to glass Robert wispers....pigs. the race was on! We needed to move quickly, they didn't want feed where they was. We had two ridges to circle around and climb a third just to re-aquire them. We found them because two started fighting over a Central plant. We backed off to circle around the point to come in below the saddle they was in. Robert stayed back as I cautiously creeped in the last 80 yards. By the time I got in close most of the pigs had moved up the opposite side. Two were still demolishing the Century plant, I ranged a big rock close to them, 32 yards....good! I just need to shift left to shoot through a small opening in a Occotillo. I drew back and the pig turned, facing away. I held back for what seemed like an hour (30 seconds) until he turned back, settled the pin and pulled the trigger....Swhack....crack! The pig stood there a few seconds then took off. Robert catches up and we start tracking. 20 yards past the where the pig was standing is my arrow that sliced right through an Occotillo. A little more tracking and 60 yards later....dead pig.

2 pointsI have NO problem with the picture given the story. If he posted it up saying HAHAHHAHAHA I shot a lion in the face then THAT would be bad. But to take it out of context to disparage him is bush-league liberal tactics. Proven the desperate actions of a insecure individual What IS embarrassing is defending poachers and admitting to poaching while laughing about it. nobulls very existence on a hunting site does more damage to the hunting community than any graphic picture ever can. Sowing discord and disinformation within the hunting community is childish and really shows his mental illness. The fact that he keeps saying "I'm smart enough to..." is the funniest thing I have read in years. I have never seen anyone so desperate for attention, but his raging insecurities tell the story. The abuse he suffered must have been bad. I feel sorry for him and his family. I hope he seeks help for his issues.

1 pointYeah, he's been there only close to 20 years I'd guess. 🤣 BUT..I do recall that Larry Fitzgerald had bought a small share in the Suns a while back, so at least there is one new owner. 😉 I was once a pretty avid fan. I attended the very first game when Andy Williams and Bobbi Gentry were there. Then over the ensuing years a now deceased friend and I usually went to several games a month when they were in town. When I managed a Penny's sporting goods dept. in the early 1970s, I had Dick VanArsdale, Connie Hawkins and Paul Silas come in for meet & greets on different days. Somewhere in my wife's snapshot collection are ones with my three kids with each of the three players. The Hawk was a funny guy, and we talked about one of my college classmates at Dayton, Roger Brown; he played in the ABA with Hawkins after they were alleged to have been connected to point-shaving scandal while in college. It kept Hawkins out of the NBA for a while, and Brown never did play in the NBA, despite being the top star of the Pacers in the ABA for years.

1 pointI think the league culture has gone down hill. That’s why I lost my passion for the suns not because they had a crappy run as of late (new owner sucks btw). But anyway this thread is about Paul. May he RIP. I’ll always remember when the suns were down 2-0 to the Lakers and he called it they’d win 3 in a row and they did.

1 pointI should start a thread for lessons learned and dumb mistakes. Last week I noted that I saw some rut action, got a stalk in, got busted and chased a large buck and does right across the road on a non-hunt hunt and private land. Well this morning I'm sitting a blind in a cool 28 degree creek bed for almost 3 hours and nothing. On the way out of the area I pull over to take a piss before hitting the road, I decide to walk down a hiking trail a few yards afterwards. A really big body six point comes barreling out of a large wash 20-30 yards in front of me and freezes. I went back and grabbed my bow, but he was long gone by then. The point of my story is the buck was alone in southern 6a and the lesson was don't ever make a move without your bow or rifle while hunting. Fawking good times...

1 pointI know it was a very long time ago (1984) but I once shot a deer and I did not have my tag with me. I left my pack in my dads truck and he drove home the night before with it. When I got up to go hunting the next morning I realized my pack was gone and had no tag. Since I didn't have my own vehicle with me, one of the guys in camp said he would drive me to Prescott after morning hunt and I could get a duplicate. I went out that morning and low and behold I shoot a buck a long way from camp. Another hunter came along and helped me pack it to his truck and drove me to my camp. He asked why I didn't put my tag on it and I explained the situation and he did not say anymore. I hung the deer and skinned it and just sat down and G&F pulled up not 5 minutes later. I'm guessing the hunter who helped me reported me to G&F but I have no proof. G&F ended up taking my deer and writing me a ticket. I had a court date in Prescott court house a couple months later and explained to the judge what happened and even showed him my license and tag. He cut the fine in half from $390 to $195 and no other penalties. I was told the reason why I was found guilty is because I knowingly hunted without a tag in hand. Had I realized I didn't have the tag after I shot the deer there would have been no fine or confiscation. People said I should have lied but I just couldn't get myself to do that once I put my hand on the bible and swore to tell the truth. Never did get the deer meat or rack either. It was a small 3X3. My advice to anyone is to tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may. You may not win but you will feel better about yourself.

1 pointIt's that time of the year again to fly south to try and match wits with the wariest of all game species in the most hostile of all terrain. Those of us from the great white north like me are easy to spot, we are usually red faced and complaining about the constant sunshine after 3 days. I'll be there this Friday for another round of Coues deer vs. idiot with a recurve. They won the past 3 rounds but I'm not one to give up that easy. I've been preparing for 2 months so I'm ready, I even setup a special bow just for this hunt. I'll keep you guys posted. There no Packer games to distract me this time either. I also have another 34 a/b javi tag if anyone has some intel down that way they'd be willing to share that would be great. I'll be happy to share some of the meat ;). Actually I'd share some deer with anyone so I don't have to pay an excessive baggage fee. And yum I can't wait for a sonoran dog at Ruiz's food truck in Tucson. Truth be told they alone are worth the trip.
