I need to do that. I eat the less desirable cuts first then lose the loins in the freezer when i put another deer in. Just added 120lbs of sitka blacktail and halibut. Never had a freezer this full. Tough problem to have.

Hey Tex, since im "the guy that wishes he was a guide" if you can make it out for the January archery hunt i will personally take you to my honey holes where you can get a chance at a nice coues. Plenty of P&Y quality bucks to be had. And i expect NOTHING in return. Just a dude helpung another dude out To the rest of the forum, the he wishes he was a guide comment is what i had in the forefront of my mind when i called him priveleged, yes i acted petty about it (i was self medicating in my defense). But yeah the only way i can get paid to do what i love is to guide, maybe 2 to 3 hunts a year tops would be enough to scratch the itch. I've done it enough for free but as the sole provider for a family of seven i cant be out every year for a week or more on multiple trips and not bring in some income, especially while im leaving her home with all the kids. I offered to help plenty here, some took me up on it and some havent but volunteering doesnt help pay the bills. For what its worth, i was actually gonna apologize to birdhunter but he kept bringing my name up, so I decided he wasnt worth the apology. For anyone else ive irritated over my tit for tat argument with him i do apoligize.

I heard elk the first year we bought the ranch, but havent heard them since— shot an auodad last month and we have sika and black buck regularly and the very occasional red deer in the back— but whats dependable is Whitetails, axis, pigs, and turkeys. I called in this cat after glassing it up 1st. My son and I watched it until she left through a saddle. Then made a hike to get close. She came in after a few minutes but from behind us. I took this cat with a shotgun up close.

The spikes probably came from all the people that had to stand in line for hours to get fishing permits and also apply for hunts because they have no online sales. I bet it had nothing to do with fisherman on the water Brian

Well I have said my piece here— If anyone is interested in trading for low fence axis hunting (rifle) I am open to all kinds of deals— I provide lodging and we dont guarantee a trophy, but We are 100% so far on trophies 30+” is a trophy — it may take a few days, or it could happen in 20 minutes like Kenny’s hunt did. I want to trade for stuff we can do in the immediate future like you come in spring— then a few months... not years later I come and hunt with you— not one day... maybe, that’s not a reasonable trade and I will never make a deal like that nor expect you to. I am happy to call you when we have studs on cams and have you come on short notice if that works, if not we can plan and you come out. I too have worked every day since this "pandemic" started. I have never denied that covid doesn't exist. I personally am not going to live in fear. I will respect people that do choose to social distance, bit it's not for me. I believe there is so much more going on behind the scenes. For instance, if its a pandemic like they say, why are the governors, mayor's and others in political office out in public, eating at restaurants without masks, traveling when they tell everyone else to stay home, getting their haircuts when everyone else can't? Why are bars, weed dispensaries allowed to stay open but they shut down our churches which are part of the constitution? I could go on and on.... Are we not allowed to question the government? Are we supposed to just fall in line and do whatever we are told? Am I supposed to be ok with lots of great people losing everything because they decided their business wasn't essential yet most major corporations are thriving??

What makes this country great is that we're each entitled to our own opinions. But we're not entitled to our own facts. So the stats I saw in the United States show about 105 deaths per day by motor vehicle accident while we've been averaging over 2,000 COVID deaths per day recently. Maybe I'm missing something though.

pretty cool. problem with youtube yote and hog killing is I click on the next one then the next one etc etc. 1-4 hours later I forget why I was on the pc in the 1st place.

Thanks guys it is always fun hunting with your family. Funny story is that he runs cross country and track and he talked a little smack about this ol man keeping up with him. Little did he know that I am still in decent backpacking shape and since I was splitting the load up I made sure to load him up a little heavier than I normally would.

I have gotten to the point of telling anyone I take to a spot of mine, exactly what I think of them going there without me. The conversation is usually pretty point blank blunt, but they understand that they are not to go to that spot without me, or without asking. Do I own the spot? No, but I showed them the spot, so between us 2, I own the spot. Sucks that this guy did this to you.
