My son has killed a couple mule deer but this year he killed his 1st Coues. Due to his school schedule he wasnt able to scout with me. I scouted 3 different weekends and with it shaping up to be a tough hunt we decided to hunt this buck. I actually figured he was smaller than he is. We were both happy as we walked up to him. We started our hike at 2am and made it to where he was by 6:15. Shot shortly after. Good scouting and a good plan worked out perfectly. Made an absolute perfect shot in front right shoulder/heart at 380yards. Bonus Rams during scouting

Hey folks! Before I go into detail of my adventure. I just wanna give a few shout outs to everyone who helped and landed a hand to me! Thank you Josiah for helping me on this trip! You're an amazing guide and I hope to see you again soon and hunt with you again at some point! Thank you Damon for leaning as much as offering me your quad! I am sorry I couldnt text you that I didnt need to use it! I lost your number because my phone broke Dave, thank you for some scouting advice back in july! I meant to follow you up on some more pointers but same issue happened with Damon! Last but not least another Dave I met in Peoria! Thank you for allowing me to buy the ammo I desperately needed! It saved my behind! Thank you all! My elk trip was good. Only there for 2 days and saw only 3 elk. 1 bull and 2 cows. Got within 30 of the bull but by the time I saw him he was already running But here we are with my deer hunt story! 11-19-20 I had left a little late but got to my unit around 430 PM drove down the FR22 to camp and I lost phone service. Google directed me to another outfitters camp and we didnt even know till hours later! So I eventually made it to my actual camp right down the road! Almost got myself a nice steal from that first camp lol! 11-20-20 OPENING DAY I met my guide Josiah who was amazing! We left camp at 530 and got out to glassing before shooting light. Saw deer EVERYWHERE and even my biggest buck I had ever seen and he told me it wasnt a shooter. I was mind boggled! But I trusted him! Heard a shot hit a deer near us right at light. Saw 60 deer that morning passed 8 bucks too! Then passed another 2 that evening with seeing another 40 does 11-21-20 DAY 2 We had set a trail cam on a water hole and saw a 210 plus buck on it! So we wanted to sit water that morning. We get there and passed a cool drop-tine buck but the other side had 2 points but still really cool! And saw about 30 does in 3 hours! We decided to stay sitting on the ground with little water, a few small snacks, and no blind or anything all day! So much action. Saw like 10 or 11 bucks that day! And countless does about 100-120 more! Heard some deer fighting that night too! Really fun! 11-22-20 DAY 3 TAG FILLED My guide Josiah was teaching me a lot about hunting, life, God, everything in general! He was an awesome dude! We prayed before every hunt and it made me think and reflect on new things on a new level. And that's a great thing. We decided to leave camp before 5 AM and get there set up with a blind and chair and food before 6 AM. We were prepared for another whole day at the water whole this time! We said prayer at 6:50 AM opened the blind and 2 minutes later I see movement to the left and a doe comes down to water and then a buck. It was so dark all you could see what a silhouette of the deer and some horn. I put my cross hairs on every buck and wait for Josiah to say shoot or dont shoot. And he said shoot...that....buck. I didnt hesitate, I trusted him like family! So I shot immediately! Hit him really good with the .243 bout 100 yard shot! He went around the small hill behind the water with his doe. Then 2 minutes later that doe was hoofing it back the other way! So we left the blind to check and this was our result. After we got pictures we did the gutless method and all the guides helped me at camp because I never quartered a deer before so they taught me! It was a ton of fun! 11-23-20 HEADING HOME Well our guide left early because he had to take care of somethings at home! So me and my girlfriend left that next morning! We packed up tied the skull to my ice chest to show it off to all the cars on the way home. As we headed back into Flag we got into a hit and run. Almost was fatal buck I luckily swerved enough to only get my back quarter of my truck dented. We came out okay. The driver took off into a forest road and some nice folks chased them back out but then that same car hit another on the highway right next to mine! So they had no choice but to pull over! They were just scared! They were younger than me and I'm 19. So we called the police and they helped us all out! Nobody was injured thankfully! But God was protecting all of us in that incident! For all the cars going 65 I would say damage was pretty minimal! But here is pics of all the highlights of our adventure!

Last year we endured 2ft of snow opening morning, so the first couple days were getting stuck and pulling others out. Not the best as far as getting to where we wanted to go because of so much snow. It was a pain in the butt!!! We followed a few tracks with no results, just tired legs(knee deep snow). Saturday afternoon my friend spotted elk 8 miles away, we tried getting there but snow stopped us. So we made a game plan for the next morning to go in a different way to hopefully get to the hills they were on. Sunday morning we hike to where we wanted to go. We located a bachelor herd way up on a hill, out of shooting range. While looking around, I found a lone bull further down the hill closer to us that would ultimately give me a shot opportunity. 2 shots later I tagged my first bull elk. This year with the help of my lovely wifes few bonus points, both her and I drew tags again in the same unit. She shot her first big game animal, a good ol tasty spike. Later that afternoon I was lucky enough to tag my second bull in this not so sought after tag in 7E.

Hard to beat a 26" 20 gauge O/U for AZ quail hunting. Buy a quality firearm and never look back.

Do you guys honestly think that the honor/shame system would not work with camera enforcement? Let's get real, the odds of seeing a warden in the field is pretty slim. Knowing this, most everyone I know follows the laws on the books. Why would they not follow the camera laws? Enforcing the law in the problem areas would not be that difficult. The amount of tanks that have a significant problem are in a fairly small area with a select few guys ruining it for everyone. *Que the tears. The replies about agfd and usfw discontinuing use of cameras because we can't use them, are ridiculous. We can't have a lot of things that gov't agencies can have. Gonna be weird when guides have to start putting time in the field again to produce results. No, checking all the camera cards does not equate to time in the field.

When this virus first hit the US we didn't know anything about it and disease experts said it "could" kill millions. Out of an abundance of caution, the government said wear masks and lock down , so we did. As more and more info is learned, we see the death rate is less than 1%. And hearing how a large majority of people that catch it have less than life threatening consequences, I for one do not see this as worthy of killing the economy and our personal freedoms over. I feel like a sheep when I'm told I have to wear a mask. I'm not saying it isn't killing people, but everyone knows those numbers put out by "officials" are questionable when we hear that if you die of anything and you test positive for covid, you are included in these numbers, even if covid wasn't the cause of the death, but a side note. If someone you know has died of covid, you have my sympathy. It now seems to have morphed into a political control issue, and that disgusts me.

Blake Sartini III was the blessed hunter to obtain the 2020 San Carlos Desert Sheep tag. This ram I named “4 Low” showed up in a huntable area. Seen him only couple times years before and Blake made the trip when I immediately called him with excitement. We got within 700 yards and this ram decided to leave the herd. No reason just irritated I’m assuming from young rams picking on him. Rut was on and he ended up very high on the mtn to where we couldn’t access. Next day made plans to go where we bedded him and split up my partner with him looking at the herd from day before assuming he’ll come back. With luck would have it at 730am he came off the steep cliffs and tied back in with the herd. He ended up bedding and we wasted no time closing the distance. We did a 2 hour stalk playing the wind and got with 525 yards. Blake waited for him to stand and his 7SAUM made its mark and ram piled up. He roughly scores 187 6/8. He’ll definetly be hard to beat this year and couldn’t believe the mass on the sheep.

I run the 5-25 on my match rifle and the 3.6-18 on my hunting rifle, CCH reticle. For the money, they are one of the best scopes. It is the only Leupold I would own for long range shooting... I sold off all the budget rifles, handguns, ARs and optics I had collected over the years and bought the scopes barely used between 1500 and 1600 bucks. It is worth having awesome gear in the safe, rather than a lot of stuff that I never shoot.

My thought as well. A lot of enforcement volunteers out there to help remove what they think should not be there. Only way around it i see is BLM and national forest would also have to make rules that follow the same "season" or cameras will be getting ripped of trees left and right.

Hey, if someone is freaking out about getting the VID, stay home. Don't tell me what I can or can not do. I just got home from the bar..no VID that I could see. My choice. ..and that's the way it should be. This is still America btw.

Leupold Mark 5 5x25 with cch mill reticle won a spot on my rifle. I've used swfa great scope for the price. I have a Vortex PST decent scope. I also have a Sig Tango 4 that works well. If you're looking for the best Clarity in my opinion for the money Leupold Mark 5. It's usually lighter than the competition and less money than comparable options. I'm ordering my second one right now in the 3.6-18 and cch reticle for my lightweight hunting rifle. It is quite a bit shorter then the 5-25 I run on my long-range precision rifle.

No offense to the dude above but I look at that set up with the bag on the tripod idk that looks like a pain to setup in the moment. I like this, I put the trigger guard just inside the back V and the back and the front are rested
