Not much going on in 1. A few weak bugles in the morning. Passed on a thin 6x6. Probably should have taken him. I looked up the numbers from the helicopter yesterday. Not game and fish. I am definitely reporting it.

You were probably too young for it to have made an impact on you to remember. You can twist it anyway you want to play that card. NYC is my hometown. Lost a lot of friends that day and a few years later. It's not a joke to be made fun of so STFU.

Puffy jackets are legit. Super warm and packable. But almost too warm for most AZ hunts.

I’ll bite! I was fortunate to take this great buck last Friday on the Bab. It was a tough year but there were some great bucks out there. This was the last night of my 14 day hunt.

I recently was able to take my best archery mule deer to date and quite possibly the best buck that I'll ever take. The target buck was a 4x5 with an inline on his left main beam. My brother in law and nephew were scouting for elk when they found this deer. They placed some cameras at a nearby water source and to their surprise he showed up. Not once, not twice but three consecutive days the week of opening archery deer. He hit water in the middle of the night before opening morning and didn't show up til 3 days later on Sunday evening. I got in the blind around 4:30pm Sunday evening. It was windy and sprinkling rain and I remember thinking to myself that there wasn't a chance the deer would show up in these conditions. Around 6pm the wind died down and it got real calm. A large group of doves flew in and fed/watered at the tank. Out of the corner of my eye I caught some movement. I immediately knew they were deer and upon pulling up my binos confirmed that they were deer and that they were bucks. Then buck fever set in like I've never had it before. The lead buck was a two point followed by a decent 4x4 which I confirmed didn't have the extra on the left. Then I saw him, the very last buck in the bunch. The bucks filed in to the tank and I ranged the buck at 65 yards quartered to me as he began to drink. I drew my bow and sent one his way. The deer scattered and I quickly nocked another arrow. The buck ran to 90 and stopped. All I could see was his head. He didn't seem like he was hit, had I missed him completely? Should I send one at 90? Had I blown my chance at the buck? After what seemed like forever the bucks started back into water. I couldn't believe it but the 4x5 with them. He came back to the same spot, this time he was facing me head on. I ranged him again at 65 and when he bent down to drink I drew my bow and sent a second arrow. It hit its mark and the buck blew out and ran and I watched him crash after 80 or so yards. A special thanks to Blake, Tyler, and Matt for the chance at this deer and for letting me sit their blind. This buck belongs to us all, an experience that I won't soon forget...

Third time was a charm for me with speed goats. After eating tag soup in Utah then New Mexico over the years, I got lucky and drew an Arizona tag. Put in the time and effort and on day 6 of a 7 day hunt I made a perfect shot on this guy. Super stoked. Special thanks to Markleo21377 who was so gracious to help me out on this hunt. Hopefully the first of many hunts together.

Kind of going the other direction, but anyone notice how shops always find something wrong? Few weeks back I had an oil change. Shop told me the fluid in my CVT tranny needed changed. I told the manager, thats funny, I had it done last week (300 miles) and WATCHED them do it, and to run his scam on someone else. He turned bright red. Ill never return to that shop again.

I’m a rabid free-marketeer but these repeated ammo shortages (to the point of unavailability) are making me wonder. In a properly functioning free market, I’d expect at least one of two things to happen. I’d expect that demand exceeding production would cause in increase in production until supply met the demand. Or, I’d expect the retail price of ammo to increase which would put downward pressure on demand until it met the supply. (Or a combo of both.) I know people are buying ammo to make themselves feel good (insert whatever reason you want but the bottom line is that possessing ammo makes them feel better). But I also know that having money in their pocket makes people feel good too. Economically rational people (a fiction, I know, because emotions are involved) would buy ammo until the marginal cost (measured in dollars) exceeds the marginal benefit (measured in the good feeling of knowing you have ammo). At that point, economically rational people would stop buying ammo. The sweet spot where the marginal cost and marginal benefit intersect is market equilibrium where supply meets demand and there’d be ammo available for those who are willing to pay the price instead of empty shelves. It’s not like the toilet paper issue. The ammo thing has happened numerous times over many years. So it’s not like it’s unforeseeable. Here’s to hoping Hornady adds a shift at the ammo factory.

Hey guys, I appreciate all the well wishes. I'm having some problems, but as Mark Twain once said, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." 🤣 It's just tough to get old. I just wish it had taken longer.

Thanks for the tips. Concho and Mcnary sound awesome. Went back up the mountain tonight. Had a spike standing off the road trying to tempt me and walked up on doe just staring at me. She posed for the camera.. Got caugjt in the rain again but it was worth it to see a full on double rainbow. Pic came out pretty cool. My feet are killing me though. dang high heels.

The spikes probably came from all the people that had to stand in line for hours to get fishing permits and also apply for hunts because they have no online sales. I bet it had nothing to do with fisherman on the water Brian
