But growing up in az and hunting here, sometimes it would be nice to walk 100 yards and kill a lot of deer!! It’s a give and take type of thing here. Better hunting experience with a harder hunt. Opposed to meat every year with a somewhat boring experience. I’d love to hunt both ways every year if time and money were no issue!

My best friend came out to Arizona for his first ever coues hunt this last January. We had a great time and were able to get both our harvests on film. We're amateurs when it comes to running a camera, but we learned a lot for the next time we have tags to fill. His wife put together this short video and with the August archery season around the corner, I thought y'all might like to see it.

I'm 5'8", 135 or so and have a sz9 foot. So I've got oodles of stuff in your sizes, including boots/pacs and lots of coats, coveralls, etc. But I have no use for fireworks. Cash is always nice, tho, as long it's more than Goodwill levels. 😉 Give me more specifics on exactly what you want.

My favorite arrow all time. It's the only setup I will shoot straight from the box. Switched my tune set up and never made it back to FmJ. Hard hitting paired with slik tricks. Deadly! Shooting 3ds had to buy a better value arrow.

I grew up hunting In tree stands back in VA. Sometimes hunt on a small 10 acre tract. Only have to walk 100 yards and you’re at your stand. While we did kill a lot of deer, it wasn’t much of an adventure compared to western hunting. I agree you cannot beat the open land, challenge and sense of adventure when you go on a hunt in Arizona.

That’s funny. The resident conspiracy theorist at my work was telling me today that they found propane tanks and a detail device . Lolololol

I have talked to two firefighters who were on scene. One from Scottsdale Fire and a captain from Tempe Fire. UP had an emergency response crew there within hours. DHS, FBI, multiple LEO organizations, multiple fire organizations, a couple haz-mat crews, etc. No signs of tampering or sabotage were even hinted at yet. I am sure there will be a very thorough investigation going on for a while.

nothing yet. I've only got 12's and a stack of cash waiting to be spent on optics. i ran 10x RF, 15's and a big spotter for years and liked that combination. can't decide if i want to go back to that or keep the 12's and just get a big spotter again. If someone made high end 12x50 RF binos I'd be sold. leaning to maybe trying the 18x56 Mavens, 10xRF and a spotter. I didn't draw any tags this year that i'll need serious glass for so i'll probably just wait a while. I've been through more optics than anyone i know. i usually only keep them for a season or two and sell them and change it up. no combination is perfect. i used the BTX more like a spotting scope than binoculars so it didn't make sense to replace my spotting scope with it.

The desert muley range is not all that big and they like to stay around their favorite water all year even when they’re not watering often. The main problem with muley bucks outside of the rut is that they are nocturnal

I have talked to several people going up and they all thought fires were allowed in the forest now. Please realize they opened the forest back up to the public but the Stage I fire restrictions are still in place.

Well, living in payson is not what it was. You can’t go anywhere on the weekends. The traffic is too bad. With all these people, the fires get worse every year. You can’t hunt, without stepping on people, or getting stepped on. You can’t fish without waiting in line. I’ll never be able to afford a place big enough to have a mule or a horse so I can get back in the wilderness. Land is so expensive it’s stupid up here. I’ll probably never afford to have a decent garden or live stock. Crooks are fighting for control of the town. Which I guess happens anywhere. if I had 40 acres in South Carolina, that would be 40 more to myself than here. Plus the coast is a hop away. There are more opportunities for the kids. id like to move to sc or nc, and go to Alaska or Canada every other year.

God smiled on me. More to come, but at first light second day, I took a cow on the Demott Park, half mile from the park entrance. Jacoby did awesome getting everyone in the coop out there to shoot. You can see two tiny dots over my shoulder in the selfie, two cows went down there, one is mine. She is a mature cow with her right horn rubbed down. Such an awesome trip. Over so fast, but was epic!
