Finally uploaded a quick clip of a couple bears my dad and I came across last year. Can't wait for this year to ramp up!

God smiled on me. More to come, but at first light second day, I took a cow on the Demott Park, half mile from the park entrance. Jacoby did awesome getting everyone in the coop out there to shoot. You can see two tiny dots over my shoulder in the selfie, two cows went down there, one is mine. She is a mature cow with her right horn rubbed down. Such an awesome trip. Over so fast, but was epic!

At this time there is no talk (other than on here ) of a straight unit

With early archery around the corner... figured I'd share the buck I had last year at 12 yards. He still bested me. It was only my 2nd sit ever with a bow - mistakes were made. Awesome encounter though!

While "dangerous," there are indeed a hundred "chicks" and dudes and kids paddle boarding and kayaking down the 50+F river every few days. Use the buddy system and don't be stupid and it is a spectacle everyone should enjoy.

It is early, where the bulls are now is not likely where the will be in September. If I were scouting now, I would probably focus more on learning the unit (roads, water holes, etc.) than I would be trying to locate bulls.

I know nothing about coues but a muley will have about a 10-15 sq mile range depending on food or water. During the rut they will move a long ways. A buck I watched on trail camera all summer/fall was killed 35 miles away the following January. I don't know about arrow accuracy changes at those elevations. I can't shoot well enough to tell the difference.

First time this year Jacoby said they wer in the meadow. I am really hoping more tag out! Three of us got a cow that morning. No complaints at all! I had an awesome hunt and my buddy and his kid could be there to be part of it. They were leaving that day.

I have a smoke machine I bought on amazon for around $100 to find vacuum leaks. Works great. Does the engine run better after it has heated up? If so, most likely an intake manifold gasket. Once it heats up it seals the leak(s). Have you looked at your fuel trims? Most OBD readers on Amazon and a tablet with free software will give you that data

I fish both the walk-in and upriver often. Back hauling has become very lucrative, so there are many competing outfitters. I’ve seen countless children floating down in canoes and kayaks and do not consider it a dangerous activity. The wind can really screw with you, but you just have to wait it out. Specific to the walk-in, it’s big water and can be frustrating. April and May are usually better than June, July, or August. The fall can be good as well! You need a good set of waders and to be able to effectively wait in position. Most importantly, make sure your flies are in the strike zone. This is the biggest trout river we have in the state and a great place to fish streamers with a sink tip! Spey or roll style casts will keep your back cast out of the bushes. I’ve tried a lot of flies in the river, but an olive crystal bugger always produces. The usual nymph rig works well too, just make sure it’s getting down to where the trout feed!

Built in 1912 , I member it was still standing when the new Mill Ave Bridge went down in the 1991 floods.

I’m pretty sure chicks paddle board there. It’s more like 50-53 right now and I don’t think it ever goes below 45.

Good reminder: I gotta do some long bombing.... ling range shooting + aiming drills is the best cure for target panic I’ve ever found. I shoot like crap at that range, but find that if I can shoot well enough to stay on my 20” target at 100 then I’m shooting a softball group at 50. like @creed said: follow through is everything. If you drop the bow arm or torque it just a little, you’re way off. However if I still see the target in my pin guard after the shot, I’m usually pretty close

I have a few.... I have been staring at these pictures for weeks and want to see more! Can't wait to get back out and check cameras so I have more to look at. Usually people have tons of pictures on here for me to browse through but something is changing. I know I don't like to post pictures on here because I have people trying to figure out where I'm hunting. Maybe others are experiencing the same thing and don't like to post because of it.???? Any hoo, here are some for all of my fellow horn porn addicts.

Are houndsmen good fist fighters? I thought they were just guys that run dogs. The fact that some guys think hounds dropped, means that any animal within 5-10 miles of them is theirs is absurd. I have followed behind hounds multiple times and understand the pace. I also understand the chance you take when you drop those dogs and they cover 5 miles fairly quickly. No different than bumping a deer over a ridge and he gets shot by another deer hunter. Just because I saw you parked 3 miles away and a deer comes running toward me from your direction, doesn't mean I am going to give it a pass. Different story if they have an animal treed and you go shoot said animal before the guys get there.

As far ahead as a lion or bear can be when they are being followed, if I glass a lion up moving across a hillside across me and I heard dogs at some point that day, I’m still shooting the lion. I’ve glassed up deer and elk that are sneaking out from an area where dogs are being run, I’m guessing that happens all the time with other lions or bears that aren’t being trailed.

Got to spend four days up in the mountains with my son bear hunting on the San Carlos Rez. We were hunting in unit C with Trophy Bob Stevens Who is a remarkable outfitter and philosopher about life. We saw a lot of critters in that place. My son ended up shooting his Bear at 270 yards ,spot amd stock. I shot my bear at 40 yards called him in. Years ago it would be all about killing bears which and somewhat it still is but more importantly for me it's spending time with my son in the mountains passing on the tradition. We have to get these kids more involved so when we're too old to fight for our gun rights they'll do it for us.
