Made the first scouting run boyos. Saw a ram too, I jumped it in spearing range. I was walking to a spot to glass into a canyon he was right below me when I got there. I tried to drop my pack and grab my video camera but he somehow dipped out under the ledge I was on before I could get any footage. Looked like a 160s ram. Only sheep i saw. 1 ram, 1 doe, 1 badger in the road that tried to square off with my truck. Most interesting part was realizing I was being watched all day by government agencies. Drone, satellite, not sure.

It’s hard to feel sorry for them. As soon as I learned how to walk, my parents always made sure to teach me to not screw around in the street. The lesson is that I could get hit by cars and that would be bad.

I used the gravedigger on a bull and cow since 2013 and last year used the Evolution Outdoors Jekel. The creator of the Grave Digger started a new company thus the new Jekel broadhead- incredible flight, sharpness, strength and durability. All three less than 50 yards travel.

I’ve been saving this spot for a Mountain Lion mount if I ever got one. I took this cat in central Arizona after calling it in with my son Roy. I think it came out great.

I apologize if I'm misinterpreting the "throwing trash from your 460" piece and I hear what you're saying with the opportunists and people that are not respectful of someone else's property. I just don't agree that there is any form of entitlement to a spot unless you are there first, and regardless if that spot has a stand or blind brought in by someone else. I regularly see crap people have left for entire seasons or indefinitely - how can anyone honestly assess whether or not a stand is being used actively, every day, all day? Secondly, how easy would it be for me to cast out a net of blinds on all the tanks in area and therefore claim them all as my spots and just act like the jackwad elkoholic's story?

TSS is expensive as heck, but worth every penny. I had my son shooting the Federal TSS #7s (3" 20g) for this spring and he almost decapitated his bird at 16 yards. His Weatherby is finicky, though, and won't consistently eject loads moving under 1200 fps. Federal TSS is 1150 and it didn't kick the next round in the chamber. I had him pattern and test an Apex 3" 20g with #9 shot and it put 60 pellets in the kill zone at 30 yards, as well as ejected the spent case and loaded the next round. I'll be switching my 3.5" loads to Apex next season.

Yes, there are typically only otc for elk. Didn't dive deep in the regs this year so if there is otc for deer id imagine they are for whitetail or private land. I've done the early archery otc as well as otc rifle hunts. The archery otc hunts are very different than here in AZ unless you have access to private land. Fewer bugles, more remote terrain, and a ton more hunters. If you are willing to hike, you can backpack into some remote areas and find pockets of elk up in the alpine country. I went to college in CO and hunted the otc every year. Pulled one bull and a few bucks during the archery season. The otc rifle seasons definitely offer more opportunity in my opinion. Usually by third season the elk are moving out of the high country and you can find a lot of decent bulls in the transition zones. With season dates being later this year I could only imagine a better hunt unless there is abnormally hot weather keeping them up high. I hunt 3rd season for deer every year and we always run into hundreds of elk on that hunt.

With all the mayhem going on ...looting,rioting,killing and hatred, I thought I would pass along something positive. On July 4 (yesterday), I went to Sportsman’s Warehouse and picked up some gear for a camping trip coming up. I got home and realized my wallet was missing. After a quick search in my truck , backtracking the few places i’d been, I raced back to the store. I looked in the parking lot where I had parked, and then went to customer service and asked if anyone had turned in a wallet. YES!, someone had found it- it fell out of my packet while getting in my truck, and turned it in. $65 in cash and 7 credit cards intact. To whoever you are...thank you!!! It’s so good to know there are still people out there who are honest and will do the right thing.

Already he didn't cut the tree down, I do believe he knows what his stands look like. There are lots of opportunist out there that don't no chit about hunting so they follow other people around and post on here not looking for hot spots. And just because the forest service has determined after 72hrs its trash. Let me see someone driveibg away with my stand or blind, thyll get some trash out of my 460s&w.. So anything you take to the woods and leave in camp is no longer yours correct? Just wondering Didn't mean to back you up azlance.. Lol

I love my Rec Tec. 40 lb hopper, all stainless steel, low rolling smoke, and ability to get up to searing temps. Better temperature regulation than the others too. That’s what I wanted.

You might check out the Helinox chairs. The are super packable, only weigh a couple of pounds, and are supposed to support up to 320 pounds. I really like mine. I don't usually take it on pack trips and usually opt for the pad. But I have a couple of times, especially if I think I am going to want to sit a little higher. Always end up glad when I actually do take it. I am 6'4" and currently weigh about 200 (maybe a few more thanks to my work from home COVID-19 eating habits.😥 They aren't cheap. https://helinox.com/collections/chair-one Here are a couple of pictures of mine to give you a better idea of size.

delw - long time! I'm coming for a fun time - surprised to have drawn as the odd are terribly low. I'm sure there's a couple decent bucks around. Will really enjoy the new scenery. My boy's 19 now. He shot a pretty decent MT buck last fall up here.
