Honestly, I don't think it's a bad thing. Life happens. We all get wrapped up in our hectic schedules. I lost my loyalty bonus point a few years back not because I missed it, but rushed it and made an error. I make a point of sending out texts to friends to be sure not to miss the deadline. We all want our hunts, but isn't it a little loser-iffic to hope other hunters miss the deadline? Maybe just me, but I'd rather see all my fellow hunters get their apps in and take my chances. To each their own.

Decided to try a $28 Amazon mount on my last Coues. It’s made of metal but the shiny paint gave it a plastic look. I used a scrubbing pad and soft scrub to dull/distress the finish. Overall, it’s pretty well made and simple to throw together.

All flat land around the base of the MTN range in the unit has mule deer. Private property is tricky but there is plenty of huntable deer. Focus on all of the flat mesquite draws that leave the mtn range headed into the valley on the east side of the range. It's an over rated unit in my opinion unless one has access to private land.

Go up and scout all summer long. If you don’t find a buck your looking for before your hunt just turn the tag back in. You wouldn’t be the first.

Meh, just take it up with the commission and ask to have that 13B tag you meant to put in for added to the pool.

OnX makes it really clear. Every parcel is labeled. Buy the Bo permit. If you do that hunt right that should be a drop in the bucket compared to what you’ll be spending on gas scouting.
