I was up there last weekend. It was busy, no question and very windy. Fished the north side of the lake, one in our group picked up a decent rainbow trout on orange pb. I threw a a few panther martins, no takers. But I would say, definitely bring a craw trap. Raw chicken and I had more than enough for a good boil. Camped much further away from the lake and didn't see really any traffic.

I pulled my 21' Champion up to Lake Powell with the Tundra. 80 mph uphill so it will pull a boat just fine. I would get another diesel if I had a toy hauler or fifth wheel to pull. If you need a diesel get one. If you don't get a half ton. If you are worried about gas mileage then get a Prius.

I had a couple of these but I traded them for some Retumbo.

no matter what you want/buy... look into the costco auto program. We bought the wifes cherokee through them, then later my cummins 2500. super easy, super painless. now my vote, the wife wanted a bigger trailer, which got me a bigger truck. Got the 3/4ton ram with a diesel. probably never go back to gas. that truck is amazing. And im cheap (not the numbers guy either) ... the low end tradesman (which had more features than my 2005 1500) was just a little bit more than what most of the used diesels were going for with about 100K

Follow up from previous post. The breeder where I got my chocolate male lab from had a litter of pups a week ago. He wanted me to post his info and prices. Not an issue with modern plastic cased batteries. They will self discharge even left on a plastic shelf.

What truck and engine?

I remove my batteries when the camper is in storage. I put them on a block of wood in my garage and on a battery tender at all times. not only is it good for the batteries, but also I don’t want them stolen.

I’m in the same boat as you. I’d love a half ton for ride quality and other reasons. Just not practical for my uses. Those new Toyota’s are super nice though.

You have a much better chance of keeping your feet dry if you wear gaiters. When your pant legs get wet, the moisture seeps down your socks into your feet. Believe me, gaiters are great in snow, rain, or walking in talk grass with dew.
