I’m not a doctor or a scientist, so take this for what it’s worth. Using the word “projected” or “potential” without qualifying the statement is just making people panic. Many are taking that number as gospel. I could “potentially” win the Powerball tonight. Does it mean 100% I’m going to be the next millionaire? No. Could it happen? Maybe, maybe not. Thats why many of us have a more tempered opinion when the “potential” death toll is discussed. True story: I’m a first generation American. Both my mom and dad were young kids in Europe during WWII. They endured great hardship during and after the war. During the Nazi occupation of Greece, Axis powers plundered both Athens and the small villages my parents lived it. My father would tell me stories(hundreds) as a young boy how he captured song birds and sparrows every couple of days, just so they could have some protein. From 1941-1944(Great Famine) many starved or died of sickness. Estimates of 500,000+. Thankfully the Allied forces ended the blockade and supplies were sent in. Obviously my parents survived. I can’t imagine that the greatest country in the world in regards to doctors, health care, sanitary, unlimited medicines, education, food supply, transportation, innovation and resolve would allow 2-10 million of its citizens to die. Call me an ostrich with it’s head in the sand, but I don’t buy it. I guess I have a different perspective and a little more faith in the US. The United States today is in a much better situation. I’m gonna stay positive and feel confident we’ll get through this without the insane fatality numbers being thrown out. If I’m wrong and not dead, I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong.

Hate to beat a dead horse here but car crashes, far people, aids, and trip and falls account for thousands of deaths a year. No one “social distances” themselves from that. I’m more worried about the aftermath of the mass hysteria than the virus. The US population will be our down fall, not the virus.

Had to run back to Sportsman's for some rifle cleaning supplies, and asked my wife, "Do you think we should buy another gun? Maybe an AR pistol for home protection?" She said, "How much ammo will you need to buy with it?" I said, "None, I have 4500 rounds of reloads for my AR already." She said, "OK. Buy one." SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE MY VOICE OF REASON! I can't decide if she passed, or failed the test? No, I didn't buy one.

A guy eats a rotten bat in China and 3 months later Wall Street bankers are wiping their A's with notebook paper because every Cletus in the country bought 400 rolls of TP. You couldn't make that up if you tried.

not As cool, wife was happy I finally hung curtains! I went to a store the other day to get an N-95 dust mask. I guess those protect against the virus! Asked a lady if they had any. We laughed at the hysteria as she said they were out of them. I told her wood dust makes me sicker than the virus and we laughed again. A few minutes later she came up to me and handed me a package. She said “we have kept a supply for those who actually use them for what they’re used for! I was grateful! It was a small town store, don’t ask.

Took these yesterday. It is a buck I have seen 4 times in the past month. I am very surprised he is still alive. Mean wound that is healing on his front left shoulder, but badly broken shoulder that is just flopping around. I doubt he will survive the lions up there over the summer and make it to next fall.

Just wanted to give a shout out for Iron city and Ryan there. I made 5 calls yesterday with the intent to go with the best 'deal' for the package I wanted. My conversation with Ryan was by far the best and most informative and he sealed the deal. Going to pick up Sat, so assuming nothing detracts from the experience, they have my business.

I agree. The only argument I can give for using holdovers is speed. The military guys like them close in, like out to 500 or 600 yards because they allow them to engage different targets at different ranges quickly. We teach both holdovers and comeups to everybody. I feel like everybody should train on both and use what works best for them.

The perfect scope would have lines down the post for every 50-100 yard increments that perfectly match my gun and bullet combination. If you could figure that out for me that would be great. It would also be great if the scope was a range finder and could tell me what line to use. Would like the glass to be perfect and keep it under $300 dollars. I'll be the first guy to buy a few!!!!!

For as much as the consensus seems that dialing is the way to go, I can’t figure out why FFP scopes are such a big deal to people besides being tacticool. I dial every shot over 250 yards. Every one. I use all SFP scopes as there are too many negative trade offs with FFP. I actually have found it hard to find good SFP scopes and more importantly clean reticles. I have special ordered my last two scopes with essentially duplex reticles in them as I know for a fact I won’t be using the subtensions and I’ve found that in the heat of the moment there’s just too much “going on” in most modern reticles.

Here's what I do and it has worked well. I print a drop chart for my gun specifically for the conditions and elevation I expect on the hunt. I only make it out to 500 yards. Say I range an animal and 390 yards I will use the chart and dial up. I use that for quick reference for the "closer" shots. Anything I plan on shooting further than 500 yards I get out the phone app, kestrel ect. and put in exact data. If I dont have time for that or the animal doesnt present the shot I will not shoot. I will not pull the trigger unless I am 99% sure i can make the shot. I hate looking for a wounded animal and tracking is not my something i am good at. Haha. I have never been able to feel confident enough using holdover reticles to make shots over 3- 400 yards consistently so I dont use them ever.
