4 x 8 x 7 tall interior Modular walk in cooler I built for elk this last year. R25 walls ceiling and floor and comes apart in full size units for storage. Set it up in my garage so it could be temporary. 10,000 btu LG ac cooling unit controlled by a coolbot. I set it at 37 and it stays between 35 and 39. Fan stays on all the time for air circulation and the compressor only kicks on 2-3 times each hour for about 10 min. each time. This worked great last fall. Hung elk quarters for 10 days and were really tender! 700.00 OBO Most end up spending over 1000 minimum for this size. Text me with your phone # and I will call you back. 602-820-6309.

Up here in Redmond Washington it is getting worse and worse. Restaurants are closing because of lack of customers. Small businesses are starting to shut down, lack of customers. Governor Inslee has closed all schools in the state of Washington. K-12 and all colleges. Also gatherings over 250 people are Banned state wide. Inslee Urging people to self distance themselves to 6 feet in public. I work at a small retail business in Redmond we are now surrounded by at least 3 nursing homes with corona virus, with in a couple miles. Business has come to a grinding halt. We are cutting down now on open business days. Lack of customers. "Rush hour traffic" don't know what that is any more. That's a good thing. I have little more time now, so thumping the hills with my new puppy to learn new hunting areas. Have been really enjoying that

as manufacturing equipment becomes more sophisticated & more automated, that statement becomes more and more untrue with every passing year. A machine shop I was GM of for many years in Tempe would routinely beat the crap out of shops in China, Mexico & Eastern Europe for making aircraft parts. And we'd also often get parts back that had been lost to those other countries when the "cheap" shops either a.) couldn't deliver on time or b.) couldn't hold quality control requirements (oops, looks like somebody forgot to make an allowance for risk and supply chain disruption!). I think that if more people involved with procurement would quit blindly buying the "no one can compete with China" BS and actually start quoting American based manufacturers they'd probably be very surprised with what they find. Hopefully that's a positive result of this mess, maybe some will start looking domestically.

Having drawn elk and antelope this year I decided to forgo my usual Kansas archery hunt. This was only my second time in 10 year not chasing giants eastern whitetails out there. I decided to put my 10 year old in though and go on a quick trip to try and bag his first buck. He has harvested two does out there so with his crossbow in tow we set out Nov 4. I have access to 1200 acres of farm ground and on this particular farm have two Summit double ladder stands. Our first evening we had a perfect wind to hunt our favorite stand on the edge of a picked bean field. It wasn't long and two bucks were running a poor doe ragged all around us. It was total chaos for about 5 minutes with Max never getting a clear shot at the bigger buck. About an hour before dark a small 7 point came out and worked a scrape then headed our way. I told Max that we should pass him and see what else might show. After he left Max said " Dad, it's my first buck....I really wanted to shoot him." As I reflected on what he said I felt like a total idiot. I had always told him that although I chose to shoot older age class animals we hunt for the meat. I told him that the next buck that we see that he likes we'll try to shoot. Shortly after saying that we look down the field and see a big 11 point working the same scrape as the small buck had. I let out a few soft tending grunts and here he comes. At 50 yards he stopped and max settled the crosshair. We had practiced at this range many times in our back yard so I had complete confidence in his ability. I gave him the green light and the arrow was on its way. The buck wheeled slightly causing the exit to be a little back. We decided to give him some time and he only went 200 yards. Unfortunately, that was enough time for the coyotes to do a number on him. He scored 140" gross. The next few days we spent on Doe patrol and the second to last night max shot a nice doe. We finished our trip with picking up the newest member of our family, Nolan, a miniature golden doodle. These days I think I get more joy out of these kid hunts than my own. We arrived home and got ready for our next adventure...36a junior hunt.....to be continued......

I just returned from a great trip to Kodiak. It is my 2nd trip to Kodiak and of course it did not disappoint. 1st rule of Kodiak- Give yourself plenty of time before and after the scheduled hunt for weather delays Thankfully ours was minimal but one group was waiting to fly for 4 days because of weather. 2nd Rule- Bears are no joke. I saw probably over 20 brown bears in 5 days with 7 in one day and a giant 8 1/2 foot sow and her cub at 40 yards. Standing up on her back legs and growling, making lots of noise and staring holes through me. No rifle and no backup gun. Dumb on my part but I was pressing to kill my buck before dark. I made a 48 yard shot on on a bedded buck, he ran 20 yards and tipped over, I held low since he was bedded down and almost missed him. But caught the lower part of his heart. I was by myself in bear country at almost dark. I didn't take to many pictures and hurried out of there. 3rd Rule- Sitka are pretty easy to hunt except the terrain they reside in. Couple of the guys in our group shot bucks at under 10 yards with rifles. Thanks to Jason for setting the trip up and inviting me along. He did all the work I just showed up. We flew into Kodiak on Friday night, Saturday morning the weather was good enough for us to be dropped by charter plane into Larsen Bay. Our Transporter picked us up and we busted it to an area to get hunting that afternoon. Everyone had the opportunity at bucks, but not a lot of real big mature bucks. It rained almost all day everyday with a few broken clouds we capitalized and took a few pictures. I get seasick, I know I do and tried to prepare but still ended up getting seasick toward the end. The boat captain tried real hard to keep the boat calm during the night, which they did. It was dead quiet and calm most every evening. My 2 goals were to take a big buck with my bow and to catch some fish. I only got sick the days I stayed on the boat and tried to fish in the deep water. My buddy killed two bucks with his rifle Quite a few guys caught a bunch of halibut, but I was so sick I wanted to get on land and hunt. could have shot a few solid bucks but nothing bigger than I already had. photo credit of the boat with rainbows to Jason and Tony. My buddies 2nd buck, last day. screen shot from video of a pretty big bear Buddies first buck they are pretty deer. Real heavy hide with lots of fat. I'll try and rotate our salmon limit Lingcod
