I built this gun exactly how I wanted with no corners cut. The rifle was built by WAR rifles out of Virginia. Defiance ga hunter action, Gunwerks magnums carbon stock, gunwerks bottom metal, triggertech special trigger, 26” proof barrel, apa lil bastard brake, nightforce nxs 5.5-22x56 with nightforce rings and top half bubble level. Load development and drop data verified out to 1300 yards. Gun will come with 50 rounds of ammo and a nice cut out hard case. Gun has less than 50 rounds down the tube. Price drop, $6000

Me and my good buddy went out late in January. We had a great day out glassing for deer. We ended up finding this buck around 4 in the afternoon. And after a few minutes looking at the buck we both decided we would be more than happy to wrap our tags around this buck. So we flipped a coin and I got to chase him while he sat back and watched. I had to make a small loop around to get out of sight of the bedded buck and come up out of the wash up a super steep embankment. Within the last 10 feet or so from being able to crest over and see the location of the buck I rolled a rock down the embankment. Thinking I just screwed up that stalk I glass back to my buddy giving me the thumbs up that he's still there. So I knocked and arrow and crept up only to get caught by the buck at 40 yards. He didn't know exactly what was going on but he stood up in the brush and walked away from me towards his does. Long story short I followed him over a thousand yards or so with multiple shot opportunities over 80 yards to finally get a shot I felt comfortable with at 51 yards and the rest is history.

When cards started getting hit last Friday we had a hit so i new either my daughter or myself had gotten drawn. I had used two different cards so i would know who drew in case of a charge. Well according to my records it was me that drew i told my daughter better luck next year. Fast forward till today check results find out i had not been drawn at all instead Tessa drew her second choice early rifle bull in the multi unit unit hunt with two points as her second choice. This is her fifth tag in seven years all bull i wasn't even aware i had put her in for this hunt i should probably not be drinking ultras when I am applying for the draw well at least i got another bonus point

Start your hunt a few days before the actual hunt starts so you have a few days of scouting before the actual opener.

It's all good man. I am giving you a hard time, but I am also being a realist. I have hunted the unit a lot over the past several years for both elk and deer. By some crazy luck, my family has probably had more elk and deer tags in 3A3C over the past 5 years than anyone. The honest truth is that the late rifle hunt is probably one of the tougher bull elk hunts in the state. Even the best outfitters struggle at times to turn up decent bulls on that hunt. Have realistic expectations, and if you are willing to work, you will find something. But you should consider shooting the first bull you see with antlers. Lastly (and I mean no offense, but since I don't know you, I don't want to assume anything), make sure you know the difference between a buck and a bull before you go. You are more likely to see bucks than bulls on that hunt, and you don't want the trouble that will befall you if you accidentally shoot the wrong one. FYI, if you bought point guard you can turn the tag back in up till the day of the hunt. Scout it hard the week or two before the hunt. If you aren't seeing what you are looking for, and if you burned a lot of points on the tag, I might consider point guard. But if you only had a couple of points, go and have a good time. The worst day in the mountains is better than most any day in the office.

Not entirely true, you can use it again once you have used up all your accumulated bonus points up, you can then use it again.

I was stopped during last years HAM hunt by AZGFD and he loooked at my dead pig and 300 blackout AR handgun. Did not mention anything about it. I try to encourage anyone who builds AR's to just buy an SBA3 brace and then you can essentially build an SBR without the FED hassle. They make great truck guns in the event a coyote shows himself..

Hunted this buck for 8 strait days. I seen him scouting 1 time before my hunt. Never to see him again for 2 strait weeks. The times I did see him he was way out in a completely different location miles away. The buck was always on the move... For the few seconds I did have to see this buck I could tell he was an awesome deer; Deep forks, great mass and height! I called this deer “Ghost” he was unpatternable.. The buck never stayed in a certain area like almost all bucks do. This buck knew that staying in any given area for too long was bad news for him. Super smart deer! To make things even more difficult he was the only buck in the dam area not chasing does😂 Including scouting and my hunt I only seen this deer 3 times and the only time I seen him was at the last 10 minutes of shooting light; completely nocturnal animal. Below is the story on how it went down... I spotted a buck at 1 mile at dawn. When I put the spotting scope on him I could tell it was a shooter buck(not ghost). The buck was herding and rutting these does hardcore. It didn't take me long to pack up all my gear and start closing the distance on them. I get to a half mile of them and these deer rutted over the top of this hill away from me. I didn't wanna run right into them and spook them so I gave It about 30 minutes and just glassed the two drainages that came out from where they dropped into. I did this to make sure that they didn’t escape out of this pocket when I ventured into it. They never did so I headed over to the deer trail and started track them to where they went, I pursued them extremely slow because I knew I could get really close hunting this method. I tracked them for half a mile when I noticed ears walking towards me 100 yards away. I get down on my belly and just watch these deer get 20 yards to me and feed right around me lol they had no clue I was there. So then I see a 3x3 buck about 150 yards away and I grunted at him to try and pull him closer. He came in 20 yards and had a stand off with me and had no clue where the grunting had come from. He was looking around for 10 minutes right in front of me. The buck then started grazing and eventually met up with the does that were right in front of me. It was at that moment that I started hearing grunting and trampling like a stampede lol I just got ready on my belly cuz I knew something was lurking in front of me lol. I pulled my muzzleloader and have it on my side as I'm laying in my back. I then see about 25 deer within 30 yards of me. All I could see was little heads pop up out of nowhere. Then behind the does herding them up is a different buck than what I had seen this morning. An even bigger buck had pushed the big buck I seen this morning out of the group in the span of like an hour. This buck happened to be my target buck. "Ghost" I called this buck ghost because this buck I tried hunting for 7 days with no success. The smartest creature I have hunted lol. He had no pattern to hunt and never showed himself. He was nocturnal. But anyways this buck was pushing the does, nudging them in the rump and grunting like a mad man😂 I got on my knees as he got 50 yards from me and I let him have it. It took me 3 shots to bring that bad boy down. Here he is fellas, an awesome desert mule deer with a muzzleloader🤙🏽
