Well I came, I saw, and I did not conquer 🤣 Had a really good time, saw some nice bucks, only went after a couple, and it just didn't come together. Saw a little bit of everything rut wise. Saw does without bucks, does with little bucks that weren't even sniffing around, mixed groups of does and multiple bucks of different ages, big bucks locked down on a single doe, mature bucks cruising, and mature bucks alone just being deer. I think I'd have preferred to be a little earlier but I'm not disappointed by any means. Gonna have to try getting back down in December I really appreciate all the feedback and I'm grateful to get to come spend time in your beautiful state.

You're honestly ridiculous. Horses were not in the Americas until the Spaniards brought them over. They are 100% feral and have no place on the landscape whether you like it or not.

I usually just roll window down 6 inches and keep heat on. Fingers don’t get too cold.

Had a great trip to Mexico and killed some great bucks. I should have killed this buck. I found him bedded in the shade tending a doe and had my brother shoot his biggest buck. I'm happy for him I made a great stalk on a cool buck and literally missed him 2 times at 20 yards. My plan was if I didn't find a good buck than I wanted to shoot one with my bow. Last morning I actually found a buck that I wanted. After a little rodeo and him soaking up 3 bullets he was done. Killed a good Tom as bonus One of my favorite things about Mexico

Got lucky and drew one of the 22 trophy lion tags in my unit. A friend of mine had the dogs. Hunting in 3 ft of snow made it a real challenge but super fun. Big Tom weighed in at 157 lbs and was 8 ft 5 inches long. Super excited to take a cat like this.

My brothers should be high teens and mine 105ish+ Due to the exaggeration of most scores I really have tried to get away from scoring them.

Can we put Simone Netherlands and Greta Thunberg both in a vacuum chamber and suck the stupid out of them?

I remember this from when I was a kid. The Federal law that protects the horses and burros was intended to protect the horses and burros left by the Spanish conquistadors and settlers not the feral animals that are all over the place. This is where my memory gets foggy, I think it was after public outcry after the movie with robert redford called the electric horseman where he releases some million dollar horse in nevada to be free with some mustangs. See politicians have always been wimpy, pandering, self righteous babies.

So you're saying that a company pays the hunter, sponsors (free gear), possibly pays for peoples hunts, and they carry two bows to hunt with? That doesn't make any sense to me???

Guess I will chime in. Let’s get some facts straight. First I’m a horse lover and owner but don’t believe feral horses serve any purpose. 1- horses are mono gastric and very in efficient in using what they eat compared to cattle Cattle have 4 chambered stomach much more efficient . Takes way more country to run the same number of horses than cattle. Horses are harder on habitat for this reason. 2 horse were brought here by Europeans, no such thing as a native horse. 3 feral horses are ruining tons of public land in Utah, AZ, Nevada, and NM. 4 Lions will and do eat feral horses. NM had a collared lion that pretty much lived on feral horses. 5 Any populations of unregulated animal will eventually destroy there habitat then the populations will crash and start cycle over again. 6 Since horses settled the west( really was mules) Americans have the fantasy that they can’t be eaten. Had an old timer try Oryx meat and he said it tasted a lot like horse. Oryx is delicious for those who haven’t had any. 7 Best thing that could happen if the killer market came back the the wild horses could be put to good use.

And now we see your true colors.

They should be shot and turned into dog food.

The burros and horses are just stockpiled food for when the economy gets to rough in my book.

Those horses escaped from the Rez. They’re not wild.
  16. 1 point
Yeah they should. They’re an invasive species nothing more

The horses were here before all you guys. If you can’t hunt around them and be successful then get a new hobby. Quit being puss*** and deal with it.

I think bow technology has met its pinnacle. Any improvements to performance are now minuscule. Most bows today are pretty equal in performance and the only way to sell a bow is to focus on the cosmetics of each bow. It’s all marketing hype now. Still shooting my 2009 Bear Archery Truth 2. I don’t buy into the bow hype!

I'm not trying to be rude bro. I'm just saying I would get out and not be on this forum if you really wanted to find him. Bro, with all due respect, you post significantly more dickish things on this forum almost weekly than what I just did which is pretty common sensical. If you wanted him truly found you'd post a lot more info or at least I would. If you want to save your hunting spot I get it but I don't wanna impose my ethics on you as you said earlier....

I mean I stepped off the road to shoot him.

I bought a pair of $15 gloves from Amazon before my 5b elk tag. Temps were teens and below, with a foot + of snow on the ground. Fingers NEVER got cold. Brand is "hot shot". I was super impressed. Ive used ~$50 gloves before, and $10 gloves before and personally, I've ALWAYS liked the cheaper gloves better. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XYSJL5M?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

My son got it done on the second day. Due to the national forest service extending the fire closure in 17B to the 24th of October, we had to totally ditch our original plans and hunt some new country we have never been into. The first day was pretty rough, we only saw about 30 deer and the only 2 bucks were a spike and small forked horn my son was not interested in harvesting. Gotta give him credit for patience. Day 2, we tried some different country and had not even seen a deer until around 8AM when I picked up the buck about 2 miles out across a couple of canyons. We came up with a game plan, drove the truck down the hill, and hiked into our 1 landmark on the ridge, which was a lone mesquite bush. As we came over the ridge, we spotted our buck still up feeding and got into position for a shot. As my son was getting settled in, he saw another small fork bedded down in the bush right next the the larger buck, but the one standing was a lot larger. He dropped him in his tracks with a 320 yard shot across a small canyon. The other small buck never even got up out of his bed until we started making our way into the canyon. At that point the small buck and 2 other bucks, including a very nice 3x4 jumped up out of there beds and eventually made there way over the ridge. Wish we would have seen the 3x4 earlier, but my son had no regrets with the nice buck he harvested. It was a tough pack out, but my 14 year old hauled the back half out, over a mile through some rough country. I explained to him, they really taste good when you have to put that kind of work in.

I keep waiting for my photo to end up on here. Every game cam I find gets a funny photo. Never molested, but they have to go, "Who the F is THAT guy?"
