Thanks to deer not being so wise during the rut, I was able to bring this buck home with a last ditch evening hunt for the year. The rolling hills and cliffs near me, when they are in the rut, are very conducive to hunting as follows: walk until you see some in a little canyon, since you are not being careful, they are usually standing up and looking at you but they usually don’t spook too bad, back out the way you came until they can’t see you, and circle around down wind and pop over as close to them as you can for a shot. Shot this guy from a large boulder cliff, 67 yards down hill.

I have been hunting javelina with a rifle and pistol for a few years now. After several close encounters, I finally tagged one on a rifle hunt last year. This past summer I decided to take up archery hunting. With all the bad luck I have had hunting javelina, I figured, why not try with a bow. Seems like a good idea to me 🤣🤣🤣. After all, I have heard multiple times people say that javelina are gods gift to archery hunters. Well I guess those people are correct!!! Never imagined on my first day out hunting javelina with a bow I would have tagged one. What a way to start 2020. Happy new year everyone!!!

I normally don't post stories on here, but since this was the 3rd time in 4 years my sons and I have gone 3/3 on opening morning I thought I would share that but the real story here is this is the first year they let me shoot first... I guess the time has come where they are looking out for me vs me looking out for them. Heck why not, I'll take it and thanks boys! Happy New Years all and good luck

These are trail cam pics from last April... this spring should be great as there will be plenty of food after all this winter moisture

Got to do something yesterday I never thought I’d be doing. We shot this big billy in what we thought was a spot I could get to, turns out i was wrong and we had to call in an expert. He needed a second guy and rather than wait for him to find someone I volunteered. I’ve never had an issue with heights but this was completely different. 150’ climb up the backside and a 400’ rappel off the front side with the goat attached. IMG_2218.MOV FullSizeRender.mov

Man is the deer herd so bad that the poor lions have to eat on liberal hikers?

223 bolt gun is the best all around coyote gun! Cheap to shoot (55 gr vmax) Good range (300+yards ) Tons of affordable options. Just my opinion though! Lol...

Congrats! As long as one of your arrows connected is all that matters.

I drew the archery spring tag in 22 this year. I had it once before, and saw plenty of bears, but there was one in particular I wanted. Gonna try to find him again this year. David

The only taste difference is to people who hold some sort of grudge against new things. kinda like people who have an issue with some types of Camo.

Nice job buddy! I noticed the arrow yesterday on FB, but didn't want to be the first to say something!🤣 At least an arrow left your bow.

Lol....I knew someone would say something. Clearly I need a little more practice. I missed two shots earlier in the day.

my understanding is the pellets are pressed WOOD sawdust. I have never heard a complaint about the taste from them in 10 years. To each their own. My Traeger works for me, I can smoke a brisket or turkey that have only drawn rave reviews, and not worry about it while I do so.

After an all out adventure of getting stuck, hiking miles and I mean miles everyday into the wilderness area, calling in a group of drug smugglers, running face to face into another group of illegals, watching fighter jets dog fight right above us, we came up with a good ram that checked all the boxes, most of all that everyone in the group was able to be involved. Physically brutal hunt but an awesome hunt! He green scored 165 6/8 at AZGFD and they put him at 8 1/2 yrs.

Negative. If I was shooting at him, his skull plate would be blowed up!
