On the fourth day trying to get on a herd of bachelor bucks, my daughter, Hunter was able to connect on a good desert muley in south east Arizona. Her buck grossed right at 150”.

boy i miss that stretch of highway along sycamore. mom or even dad would pull off along the creek to cool out the old yellow ford wagon and we would play in the creek in the 60s/70s. Gib Duthie or the other hiway patrol officers would always stop and stay with us until the ford was ready to head on up to overgaard. lee

Hey everyone. I started a YouTube series on how I place trail cameras. With the coues seasons upon us, I released my first video about coues deer. I hope you enjoy.

Bought a CO detector today @ Home Depot. My wife would kill me if I woke up dead.

It was pretty in there. That stretch was horrible during holiday weekends. From Slate creek hill it would funnel everyone from 2 lanes to 1. I remember seeing many accidents as people got impatient and tried passing. Probably one of the better improvements on SR 87 up until the entire stretch from Payson to Shea Blvd became a divided 4 lane highway.

So By this definition, It would be illegal to to glass an animal in a different unit, watch it cross into the correct unit and shoot it?

That would never hold up in court. There had to be more to the story.

Toot your horn much? At least you beat the other tramp stampers to it. Amazing animals grow there for sure.

Productive Morning. I'll get for serious this afternoon and weekend. Headed to a place this morning where I left the large bull in an open field the night before season. He's back and has nine friends. I know where I will be this evening. the first "little guy" I see. Apologies for the quality of the pics, it was right at first light. The group of nine bulls. The big guy is in the trees going to bedding area. Where they went and where I will be going this afternoon

I 17 is always bad. It took me three times traveling to Flagstaff to figure out I’m better off going through Payson. Usually on fridays it takes an hour and a half to get from Higley and the 202 to I17 and Happy Valley. Then it’s at least two hours to get to Camp Verde. Don’t forget driving back. Usually it’s Sunday for me and almost 100% of the time there’s an accident somewhere near new river. I’ve had it where I’m stuck in park for almost an hour before I crawl forward at 5mph for 45 minutes. Never again. I’ll always go through Payson.

The hunter was able to locate the bull and was able to harvest all the meat. It was a lower gut shot and the guts plugged the hole and he was bleeding internally hence why we couldn’t find a entry wound or a blood trail. Contacted game and fish while I was out and had service and they came out which was nice to see. Update on the scout, it’s dry up here and we haven’t been able to locate any elk.

A few years ago two guys died in unit ten when a snow storm coated their tent. The snow and ice sealed their tent and they perished when the carbon monoxide from their heater was trapped inside. Just something to keep in mind when using a heater in the snow.

Just spoke with the Commissioner. It IS 100% LEGAL to shoot from one unit into another unit, as long as no other rules are broken. No shooting across roads, structures, and so on. I'm not going to list his name (so a million people don't call him), but all of the commissioners are aware of it. So he said call your local commissioner if you don't believe some crazy guy on Coues Whitetail. It IS LEGAL.

So from your point of view, it is okay to shoot animal in the wrong unit as long as you're "pursuing" from the same unit as your tag, and "taking" from the same unit as your tag. Your logic works both ways. You're just interpreting it the way YOU want to interpret it. Just saying.

I’m seriously blown away by the “holier-than-thou” crowd on this site. There’s nothing unethical about shooting over an arbitrary boundary we created if the law we created says it’s legal. Get off your high horse; nobody is impressed.

I have the same setup. I keep a front and back window open about 4" for ventilation. I bought the heater about 10 years or more ago and have used it in tents and a travel trailer. The one I have is 4000/9000 BTU and I rarely put it on high and run it on a 5 gallon bottle. and it would probably last 2-3 weeks running it 12 hours a day on low. It raises the temp almost 20 degrees on low and I have never had a problem or woke up with a headache. I always run it all night and have never used a filter. I have about an 8-10' hose and leave the tank outside.

I trained for awhile and was on my way to blue belt. Went to a tournament and dislocated my shoulder in the championship match. I was worried I wouldn't be able to pull a bow for hunting season, but healed up and came back to training. I do really like bjj and would really enjoy training again, but ended up making a hard decision to focus more exclusively on hunting as its my first passion. I had to be real with myself that if I kept training I'd probably eventually have an injury that would keep me off the mountain or maybe contribute to cutting hunting years on the backend ( was proving to be a little injury prone ). I'd recommend anyone considering it to train bjj and train hard and smart. Its really fun, and for someone needing to increase fitness levels but doesn't enjoy traditional training methods, its a fantastic option. Classes just fly by but can be a very intense workout. I just made a decision to put all my focus and funds into one thing. I'll probably come back to bjj in time though.

After watching my son and wife train the past 8-9 months (and dropping 45#) i have started training as well. I usually run 6-8 miles, and am in decent shape for my size. After rolling with dudes close to my size, I was exhausted, and sore the days following. Cant wait to go back next week!
