Not the G2 Buck I was after, but with only 1 day left I decided my passing days where over! Average buck for this farm.

Glassed up a deadhead while in 13b.. considering where we were I had high hopes for what it was but I was let down when I walked up to it.. still a great find and it makes the other two in my yard look dumb lol

I’m seriously blown away and amazed at the energy a bunch of guys on CWT are exerting just to justify shooting from the wrong unit. I think it’s easier just to be in correct unit. If anyone ever hunts with me I want to make it clear now: we will glass from the unit listed on our tag. we will pursue within the unit listed on our tag and we will shoot from the unit listed on our tag. 😁

But a good dog is worth the wait

They don’t actually throw them away. They’ll just toss them aside in the “too early” bin, or whatever they use. They’ll then send your unopened application back, envelope and all.

I think the sideways pictures usually depend on which way you take them with your camera on your phone.

I know its a while out but Ill be expecting a litter of AKC English/American labs in May 2020. The litter will be papered. Sire is yellow (actually white in my profile pic) and Dame is black. Both dogs love going bird and squirrel hunting. My yellow goes with me in the field to scout in the offseason.

Ended up getting lucky and found a decent buck. This was my first time ever in the unit other than some Google earth scouting and reading previous posts about the unit. Oh and it's my first coues. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I can say the 121 Hammers fly REALLY accurately, but BCs seem WAY inflated. Like 6-8" low at 545, 12-14" low at 741, 18+" low at 921. I couldn't even estimate how low the 921 yard drop was. Pretty unexpected. 545 group was very good however. Like 1.5". 721 was about 2". The vapor trail off the Hammers is a sight to see. Looks like a dust trail! I have a couple good videos of them, but here is a still frame of one.

Wanted to share an opening day buck I took during the October central Az coues Hunt. Enjoy and good luck to all the coues hunters still out there.

https://desertretrievers.com/ I’d look into this breeder. If I were to buy a lab I’d go this route. They have good pedigrees. There is also another breeder out there that does pointing labs.

We have always used a propane heater at night before bed.. Just to be comfortable and then 5 mins before waking up I will kick it on to knock the chill off. I don't like the idea of keeping the Mr. Buddy on all night. I would hate to wake up dead. ha ha. I have always stayed warm in my sleeping bag, so that has never been a problem. Sure does make getting out of the bag a lot easier though.

I spent a couple nights in my 10x14 flexblow north of Flagstaff in December. It was low temps in the 15* area, but windy. We had a single canister buddy heater running on high all night hooked to a BBQ tank, and another buddy heater on low running on green bottles. It wasn't cold in the tent, but it wasn't warm either. When the heater on low ran out a green cylinder you knew it, and would wake up to put a new one on. Our bags are probably +20* sleeping bags though so that doesn't help. If it hadn't been windy I think it would have been manageable with just the 1 heater on high on the BBQ tank. A big buddy dual cylinder heater hooked to a BBQ tank would probably rock it in one of those tents.

Very nice pistol. Too many projects going on right now for me but good luck with the sale.

This hunt just got harder to draw. 😬

I think it’s a slippery slope that begs for a citation. Using your example, if you shoot from unit 125, in effect you’re hunting in unit 125. I could see yourself getting tangled in an unnecessary situation. Just do the right thing. Cross the canyon and hunt and shoot in the unit your tag indicates.

Reloading is NOT cheaper. What reloading does is let you tailor a load to YOUR rifle using the highest end components you want. It let's you make consistant loads. it lets you pick the bullet you want to shoot. And it is 95% of the time producing more accurate loads. I agree, if you only shoot 100 rounds a year, not really worth it. Initial set up costs FAR outweigh returns. There is not enough difference between the 143 ELD-X and 147 ELD-M to warrant any decision. See which one shoots better and use it. Either will kill game the same.
