God is good!!! The first few trips out this hunting season were less than stellar in productivity, but I was able to enjoy the country I was in and the company I had on every trip out. Yesterday evening after getting off work at 2:15pm my buddy Brad and I hit the sticks for an evening hunt. God blessed me with great company and very good help as well as a nice archery coues deer. Thank you brad for all of your help it is very appreciated!!! Hadn’t chased coues in over 10 years since I had moved away from Tucson and couldn’t be happier with getting this buck my first few months back.

The Rifle is a model 94 Winchester in 25/35. This was the first rifle that my grandfather bought and the only one he ever had. He bought the rifle in the Prescott area, this deer was also killed with this rifle in the Prescott area. Pretty cool to have both of them, I can only imagine the miles that were walked carrying this rifle. I even have some of the original boxes of ammo.

Heres one that had like 3 cams pointing in the direction. was on a trail to a pond behind me about 20 yards away.. she took off running and I had no clue why, then did this and said look at the trailcams behind you Dad .

As trophy hunter said, people are free to tell people free people what to do. That’s what makes us free. Just like I was free to say what I did. The discussion will continue wether it’s forced or not.

I've came home at midnight and 2 AM and have seen Javelina on the water, in the daytime it's usually Quail, Rabbits, Coyotes, and ever now and then a Bobcat.

If i were you i would personally hit up bull basin and any other shop you can with your price point. Shoot as many bows as possible and get a feel for them. Who knows you may find something else that fits you better. In the end that may still be the pse but you'll be better off at least seeing how it stands up to similiar bows in that range.

We were following some lion tracks in a sandy wash. Came around a corner and seen what looked like a jacket in a tree. As we got closer we realized it wasn't just a jacket. We were 16 miles from the truck without phone service. When we got back into town we called the sheriffs department and took them out there to recover the body. I didn't get back home until 1:30 the next morning.

Right in the face "IN the face" quote some movie I saw was funny as crap. heres my take on it, you had a heck of a time and saw a ton of deer both big and small. you hunted hard which is more then most guys will get to do in a lifetime. killing a buck big or small has nothing on what you did and Saw. I have more fun getting out seeing a ton of game then I do shooting them more memories too. BUT dang you got some awsum pics in this thread and found a few dead heads as well what more could a guy want. Congrats on your hunt I thought it was freaking awsum

This is and was a great thread! Congratulations on getting a deer. Sorry it's not what you wanted, but all the great memories will last longer than the head anyway!!!

After ranging twice I settle my 3rd pin (sighted exactly in at 45 yards) on him and I release. I hear the thump of a hit. I notice a smaller buck running along side monica as chaos breaks loose, like I tried to assassinate the president. Bucks are running everywhere. I keep an eye on monica making sure I dont lose site knowing he/she will go down any second. I go to where I shot and look for my arrow. Nothing. no blood. I go to where I last see them and find a piled up deer and say to myself finally. I look at the horns and go where is the rest of it. For a fleeting second I wont lie to you and say I didnt consider going after the big buck. Apparently when I ranged the second time and the seconds it took to reaquire the target the little guy stepped in front of his dad enough to take an arrow to the face. I sat there reminiscing over the past couple of weeks. the bucks I missed, passed and seen and just laughed. Here is my monster strip buck. Hope you guys enjoyed the ride. the ending wasnt what I expecting either.

This one really shows it. His prong went more sideways than forward.

The only thing I would shoot these guys with is a camera. Notice the absence of powerlines!

That truck in your picture is the first truck I ever drove. We were moving cows from one pasture to the other. I was 8, my dad put it in first gear, told me to reach down and turn the key off when I got to the gate. I was up on my knees on top of the world driving down the dirt road when all the sudden I had to take a leak, but knew I didn't dare turn the key off til I got to the gate................wet my pants, what a way to ruin my first driving experience

Neat photos, Scoutm. As for the pic showing your uncle as a boy with the two blacktails, if your uncle was born in about 1944, and was ten years old, that would make the year 1954 or so. I can assure you that game departments across the west sold tags for all big game hunts then. I know, for a couple of reasons: 1. ! shot my first buck after buying my first Arizona deer license and tag in 1948. I was 12 years old, Arizona's legal minimum for big game hunting then. 2. 1954 was the year I graduated from Yuma Union High School. I wanted to apply for an elk tag that year, but I badly needed the $25 application fee to help pay my tuition at the UA that fall. As for the bottom photo, that's a good guess. That sedan is from the late 1930s, and it looks like it has been around a while. I’d say those deer were killed just before or during World War II -- or 64 to 68 years ago. Bill Quimby

Get a lion tag too. And keep an eye out for illegals. Found one hanging in a tree a few years back.

Don't keep talking about how many goats you see G&F are reading and will give out so many tags over a couple of years and wipe out everything. Just like 18B.
