2 pointsThe Rifle is a model 94 Winchester in 25/35. This was the first rifle that my grandfather bought and the only one he ever had. He bought the rifle in the Prescott area, this deer was also killed with this rifle in the Prescott area. Pretty cool to have both of them, I can only imagine the miles that were walked carrying this rifle. I even have some of the original boxes of ammo.

2 pointsAh..... Bingo!!! Totally skimmed over that part. I'm going with that, then! (So I can now openly admit that I brought a pronghorn head in from New Mexico on Sunday night. )

2 pointsThey just took the money out of our local taxidermist’s hands. Not a very well thought out statute and definitely a knee jerk reaction, IMO.

2 pointsAwesome, good luck! Shane is a solid guy. I'd say to heck with the kid's college tuition. When did college tuition become the parent's responsibility? My parents definitely missed that memo and I am a better person for it. I was to busy working full time while going to ASU full time (without loans or grants) to party and get into stupid college kid trouble. I easily learned as much about being an adult, responsibility, and work by not having college given to me as I learned in the classroom.

1 pointI am a pretty average hunter and a below average gear guy, I use 150 dollar binoculars that I bought ten years ago. I usually use the two second rule in judging if its a shooter or not. Listening to Jay Scott Podcast, I hear him use the term 'cream' quite a bit. If Jay is the cream, I am more like grounds. To use a fishing analogy he would be in the private boat with a captains chair and my preference would be swigging coors lights on a party boat learning from other guys swigging coors lights. For the most part I do not like waiting for tags with this exception, I wanted to hunt the AZ strip once in my life. I will post daily as cell service allows my views and pics from 13b. People keep telling me I need to get a guide or buy a scouting package. Although I am sure it would help with my success, I consider hunting to be a test of what I know and what my intended quarry knows, (that and two daughters college tuition payments pretty much rules out buying anything) Here are some pics from my scouting. Big shout out to shane koury for helping me decide what a shooter is this year and pointing me in the right direction to check. First Buck seen Too cute not to stop and take a pic First real bucks A big three in the afternoon MY bison hunt sucked the majority of my vacation so my intention is to hunt the first few days then ten days starting just before labor day weekend. either my failure or success will be epic.

1 pointI just came back from up there. There are currently 2 fires burning in the Camp Wood area. The Sheridan fire is closer to Bagdad and the Pemberton Fire south of CampWood Road. I had a talk with a Game and Fish Warden up there and he told me that they plan to let both fires burn. In fact they are adding ignitions to the naturally started fire to assist it's burn. The Warden said that the fire crew plans to let the Pemberton Fire burn all the way to the Camp Wood Road. Right now the fire is a few miles to the south of Camp Wood Road. As the Warden explained, if and when the Pemberton fire gets near Camp Wood Road, they will close the road. He said, if you are already up there, you may need to leave via the Bagdad route. It sounds like they anticipate that around this weekend. The Sheridan fire also poses a possible threat to the Bagdad route as well. The warden suggested a person might look for alternatives to hunting in the area. So Heads Up to anybody planning on hunting in the area over the next week or so.

1 pointI’ve never driven on a road with a check station coming into AZ from other states. How will this be enforced?

1 pointThe Democrat party leaders and Main stream media have attempted to "declare" that President Trump is mentally unstable. They even bring "experts" on to try to make their case to the public. If they are willing to tar and feather a sitting president, imagine what they will do to you and your hunting buddies if they get red flag laws passed. Some "community organizer" will get 20, 50, 1000 followers to sign a petition that says your gun is a direct threat to their safety and mental well being to take your scary looking gun away. Don't laugh, this is all too real.

1 pointSan Carlos is under 5% now, don't see much more ppl trying to fish it like a month ago. Not too much water coming in and plenty going out. The dirt tanks in the higher country are still producing good fishing for Bass, Cats, and Bluegill. Talkalai has definitely slowed down a lot with the hot temps as usual for this time of year. Ps. Sorry about my loud party😜 DAN

1 pointThat was the trip I was on. I had a blast on the trip and will be going again for sure. We only had 3 or 4 fish in the boat by 2 in the afternoon. Not sure if the fish were not feeding or what. We ended up getting into a pile of yellowtail and a few yellowfin for about 2 hours. After that it was very slow with only 5 or 6 more fish caught the rest of the day.

1 pointOr we could just realized in a country of 340 million people this is a new reality with the way our society is today and the actual percentage of people that are being afflicted by such craziness is such a small number that it is not a possibility to control. With prescription drugs and illegal drugs as prevalent as they are in the society and with social media as it is it is inevitable to have a few crazies a year. Many more people die in car accidents do we just get rid of cars? Many more people die of alcohol abuse should we get rid of that. Many more people die of domestic violence should we do away with marriage and relationships? An exponential number more die of suicide every year. How do we stop that? This is the problem when you try to regulate everything it is impossible. Let life be what it is and do the best we can without infringing on everyone else.

1 pointNitto and Toyo are basically the same company. Usually it is the other way around though. Nitto's are cheaper, and Toyos are more expensive. I had a set of the Toyo AT's and wasn't overly impressed.

1 pointFrom the looks of it the whole A-plus system has been done away with this year. Draw tags are good unit wide on public and private (if you can get permission) and private land tags are OTC a regardless of what ranch you are on. Essentially they are leaving the management of antelope on private land up to the landowners now. The tricky thing will be the public land that is land locked within the large ranches. I’m guessing their private land tags will NOT be valid on that land but it also doesn’t have access for public hunters. Similar to the way private land deer tags have been done in NM for some time.

1 point6-20-1928---4-18-2014. Home is the soldier, Home from the battle. Home is the cowboy, Home from the saddle. Home is the farmer, Home from the field. And the hunter, home from the hill. You go on up ahead a ways dad, I'll catch up soon. Build a fire so I can find you.

1 pointI am 29, and I just started hunting and drew a deer tag this year. So hopefully my first big game harvest will be at the nice ripe age of 29.
