Had that exact setup on a 8' spinning rod that I caught the BFT on, specifically for that task. Issue was they were going under 100 yards out, and with anything heavy enough to cast that far, it shut them down the moment it hit the water (with very few exceptions). Definitely learned a ton on this trip, and plan on having a 9' (or longer) casting rod set up for this next year to chuck the lightweight stuff out there far enough. And let's just not discuss the cost of this hobby...(already looking at getting my own CC).

Time to thin part of the heard... beautiful little rifle that I don't use. chambered in 243. I've had it a couple years, I have put about 30 rounds through it. Shoots 1 MOA with the 95gr SST's I tried. The previous owner I purchased it from said he shot it about 20 times. Wood and bluing are in good condition, a few minor safe marks. Feeds and functions perfectly. Very well balanced. Would make a great gun for a recoil sensitive person. The barrel is 20" overall length is 43-1/2" If you would like more pictures I can get them to you. Would like to get $800 But more interested in trades

Yes, he is the owner of Arrowhead Rifles. Used to be Arrowhead Sporting Goods. He makes a solid product and is a pleasure to work with. Was able to drive out to him and he got everything switched out, head spaced, and back on my way within about 20 minutes.

I think I have one around somewhere but I have no idea where it is. I’ll look and let you know if I found it. I’d have to ship it so it might not be worth your time anyhow.

Do you want Picatinny or Weaver rings? Or Picatinny rings made by Weaver? They are different. Weaver rings will fit in a Picatinny rail. But Picatinny rings will NOT fit in a Weaver rail. If you are using the bases that came with the rifle, they are Weaver bases. Picatinny rings will not fit. If you swapped a Picatinny rail on it, then Picatinny or Weaver rings will both fit. If you WANT a 20MOA Picatinny rail for the Savage Axis, let me know. I have a brand new EGW base I will sell for cheap.

I'm a bit miffed why so many people have ADHD and are mentioning places 30 or 40 miles away. Guess some people just feel the need for attention.

So pics are of me, my son CJ and fellow CWT Member Metau who caught a slob and only one of the four Bluefin. Three fish battled for his lure and we saw the strike. Very cool and exciting. I think it was right at 40#'s. Biggest BF went to Chris from Minnesota kneeling in the light colored shirt. This fish was 75-80 and he brought it to the boat after dark in under 15 minuets with time to share using a monster of a reel. He was down about 200'+ and used a live sardine and a 9/0 hook and used small wire ties to hold it on the hook. The other big fish was caught by Phil, a local, and also after dark after a long soak. He caught it on a 25# outfit after a battle that took him around the boat and lasted probably 90 minutes.

I have the cva accura v2 and I love it. My buddy owns a Remington 700 and it is also an awesome gun. Once you find one you will be hooked

Love my cva optima mag, just my opinion..

Why run from cva and traditions? I do realize that cva had some issues for a while, but I have a new one that shoots great. I’m also a big rem 700 fan, but they put out some real poor quality rifles for a while around a decade ago... or is your opinion similar to the “everything but Swarovski sucks” crowd? I’m new to muzzleloadera but I’m just wondering
