I'm not sure who drew, but hoping it's my 12-year old daughter...she was in on her own, but so was my FIL and my wife. But even if it's not the girl's we are in for an adventure. Can't wait!

Not looking to fight anything for more than about 30 minutes. That Redfish in my avatar was 30-35 minutes. Watched my son fight a yellowfin that was about 135 for 30 minutes and a bit later my buddys daughter land a marlin after about 45 minutes. At 66 years old I have caught plenty of fish from Tarpon in Puerto Rico to Grayling in Alaska. I just enjoy it for what it is and am trying to fill my bucket list before the sand runs out of my hourglass and enjoy it with as many people as I can. I usually do catch and release for bucket list fish. But to me every fish is a trophy and a memory as are the people who where there at the time or the really special times when it was just me, the rod and the fish.

I went with a friend of mine on his hunt at Raymond Ranch in the early 2000's. Just to be that close to animals that big was incredible! Not to mention the quality of the meat. I have been applying for a tag ever since. Was up to 22 bonus points and have always applied for Raymond Ranch hunts. Those are too few and hard to draw so I gave it a try on the House Rock herd first choice and Raymond yearling second choice. Got charged for $650! I'm 67 now and retired, will be making trips to the Kaibab this summer and fall. Looking forward to it all. Good luck to all that drew tags! bill

Agree to disagree. I had two dealerships try to sell me a new transmission and brought it to them and the only problem was a torque converter. They did a phenomenal job, saved me a bunch of money, and I got a bunch of life out of that truck. They have 188 reviews and 4.7 stars. You must be the outlier

Well, looks like this will be my 27th year of donating. Looking at the odds, it will be another ten years before I have any statistical chance of getting drawn. Congrats to all that get drawn. I am sincerely happy for you.

Good luck to those of you who drew tags! Bison are amazing animals. big, huge, tough, and delicious! I was up on my daughters bull hunt this past week, it was my first trip to the Bab in the summer, it is so green right now its amazing. Reminds me a lot of Colorado, but a whole lot flatter. I hated to have to come back to this heat. From a low of 32 on Sunday to 112 here yesterday, that stuff aint right. Only in our great state.

Iā€™m always open to being persuaded that I am or was wrong about something. And Iā€™m not ashamed to admit it when I believe I was wrong. As the poet Alexander Pope (1688-1744) said ā€œNo one should be ashamed to admit he is wrong, which is but saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.ā€ @ AZLance: Characterizing my comments ā€œWorst and most useless postļ»æ of the year!ā€ and saying that Iā€™m ā€œbeing part of the problemā€ are conclusory statements. Those bare conclusions, without any arguments or reasons to support them, are not persuasive. @ trphyhntr: You actually make my point for me. ā€œwhy dont you just not click on the threads if you dont want to read itā€ is precisely the reason the ā€œNon-hunting related Politicsā€ forum exists. Iā€™ve never asked for a password to enter that forum because donā€™t want to read it because I remember the stuff that used to be posted on there before that forum existed and Iā€™ve seen the threads that have been moved there. The Campfire is a place for all of us and we all click away on it looking for something interesting, enlightening or funny. The Campfire canā€™t be ignored. The Non-hunting related Politics forum, on the other hand, is easy to ignore. @ AZLance & trphyhntr: Iā€™ve always enjoyed your posts which include your commentary and the pictures youā€™ve been generous enough to share. Youā€™re both welcome around my campfire any time. And if either of you show up, and thereā€™s one last beer in the cooler, itā€™s yours.

Sounds good. I just booked us on the Constitution and rented a couple of Rods with 50# and 2 speed reels. We are taking my sons GMC Sierra which bets better mileage than my 7.3 plus it has a covered bed to keep stuff in. I also am getting some feedback on Bloody Decks which has been a big help too. I was thinking of leaving about 6AM or so on the 4th so we could try and get a decent place to park. Chris 602-499-0610

Back in the late 80s and early 90s I worked along side my dad in the log woods up here in the 3c area, logging and thinning brush. There was a significant amount of work back then. It all stopped shortly after. 10 or so years later we burn almost half a million acres.

Ok, meet at the ranch managers office at 8am , short orientation, the 2 rangers and 3 hunters and 1 friend each get in a truck for the hunt. Drive about a mile, locate herd, one has GPS if needed. Drive up to herd (19 animals left), get 20yrds away lay out feed pellets . Drive out to 63 yards and wait until herd separates and then the manager puts up an awesome tripod and tells the hunters (in permit # order) which buffalo to shoot. 3 buffalo on ground, Call friends with flatbed trailer and to drive out to kill , take pics , gut, load and back to skinning shed by 9:15am, skin and quarter, load and on the road to Processor by 12:10pm. Well there you have it, not sugar coated and I don't no how to make it sound more interesting. Anyway needed my buffalo from az for my az big 10 , and for $350.00 for a 3 yr old cow , 4 bonus points , who cares if it's my once in a life time is done. Time to eat
