The lakes I usually fish are 2+ hours away. It takes me 30 minuets to un load and get ready (no trailer, a truck top boat) Dawn is about 5:30 AM, so I leave my house around 3:00 AM. Being out on a scenic high-country lake at the crack of dawn is how I relax, it's what I love. It’s a lot easier to jump out of bed at 2:30 am to go fishing than 6:00 am to go to work. I am usually the only one on the lake until after 8 AM.

Been trolling on this site for years and finally decided to make a profile. Drew a 35a Gould's tag this year with 14 bonus points. Set up this morning and had alot of turkeys talking all around us but nothing would commit in. At 7:30 we Decided to try another area and we found 3 toms together on the hill side. Made our way over there and found a single Tom by himself on a closer hill. Get over to him and bump him and he takes off. Took a chance and kept looking for him and found him walking around at 150 yards. Circled around him and we came up at the perfect spot. Ended up being a 10 yard shot. I know it will be years again but I can't wait to be drawn again.

They should amend the rescue to be like the "stupid motorist" law.... if you knowingly drive into a flooded wash and get stuck, you pay for the rescue... could be the same for hiking... if they show up and you're standing there in sandals, just know youre gonna pay. ha ha

Move over to Sitgreaves Mtn. area. Be in the woods by 4 A.M. and just listen. They will often make a little noise while still on the roost.

The road up to the high country opened. McKinley road to Wishon reservoir (7,000 ft ) in central Calif. Sierra Nevada Mt.s. (Courtright at 8,000 ft is still closed for a few more weeks) I couldn’t find anybody who wanted to hit the road at 3:30 am so I went up by myself, and was lines out trolling by 6:15 am. No size, mostly Rainbows between 11” and 17”, and one 16” German Brown. The action was non stop, I boated 43 fish, and lost a dozen more by 11:00 am.

A boat is a whole in the ground into which you throw money. As long as you realize that up front, you will do OK. We had a 16' aluminum 1963 Texas Maid with with a 85 hp Johnson. We used in for fishing and taking the kids to the lake. When they got into middle school and beyond, they were too busy and committed to go so the boating went away. Realize it is for a season and cherish the time you have with your kids. Do not get a bass boat! You will constantly be getting in trouble with that. I would suggest get an aluminum deep v with a 4 stroke motor to minimize maintenance and don't go into debt to do this. Lots of incomplete projects out there if you are handy. How's that for a bunch of random wisdom?

Took a small hike to check a camera one last time before the mother nature drops the heat hammer. This is a new spot so I wasn't sure what would show up.... no giants but, I was pleasantly surprised. Its probably worth keeping tabs on.... On the way out, I stumbled across these little treasures.. always makes it worth the walk Its going to be a long summer. Thanks for looking. Dave

It has nothing to do with racing or power. When you put on bigger tires all of those factory settings like shift points and speedometer gets thrown off. Just want to align the computer with tires on the truck.

Tikka T3x lite in Stainless Steel- .270 caliber Swarovski Z3 3-10x42 Scope Bipod- (unsure on brand) Rings and Base- (unsure on brand) I won this at the MSA Banquet in Payson. It was the Nicest gun they had on raffle there. I am not exactly sure on the scope rings and base because the gun was already put together but they look high quality. The guy who put the gun together said it was a $2500 build. I priced everything out on cabelas (picture attached) and it was $2006 with tax. I would take $1750 for it right now. I am located in Payson. call or text-Mike- 928 517 1384

I had an aluminum for for many years and jet skis but never owned a "real" boat. Just sold our jetskis so wife wants a boat.

Lots of really good bucks in 21. They are spread out pretty good in small pockets. That early hunt is chalked full of rattlesnakes, so be prepared when crawling thru the prairie grass

Originally, I just asked this question out of curiosity. But fast forward 4 months and I got super lucky and drew tag #5 of 5. So, I will be hunting them come September 6th....just so happens, it would have been my dad's 81st birthday. Good to hear there are some good bucks left in there.

As the immortal words that I once heard. Fair is a place a farmer takes his pig to win a blue ribbon, and finally if it was fair, Elvis would still be alive and his impersonaters dead.

How about the Fossil Creek rescue of a lady in flip flops? DPS helicopters are a bunch of crap. Next time they fly a person off Papago remember your $32 helped facilitate this-

You simply must renew those tags and keep that mobile artsy display on the road. How else will Joe Public get to view those awe inspiring trout and frying pan decals plastered on its sides?

Looks to me like I'm going 4 fletch , arrow weight ended up at 524 on the dot. Brass insert and 100 heads. Added a 7 in custom wrap on the back end and man do these hit hard and with tight groups. Super quiet vs what I started off shooting. 30 yard group

On my way to Flagstaff for the weekend, stopped to take in the view. Lake is filling up nicely since the last time I passed by on March 3rd. There's still alot of runoff pouring into the lake. Pictures don't do it justice. It was a quiet and beautiful scene. Also, Uppet Lake Mary was full and spilling. Lower LM was probably 70% full and rising.
