Desert cats usually don’t. They just don’t get the heavy longer fur like a flagstaff, rim, or white mountain cat. Desert cats need to be taken in late December and January to reach their full potential. They can bring pretty good money. An earlier taken desert cat is too flat and short of hair, therefore worth very little. There are other factors also with all cats that make a difference. The wider and whiter the belly with clear black spots is what you want. Also a $50 average on Arizona coyotes is pretty darn good. Here are the three cats that I took up there... the one on the right I didn’t sell. As you can see it doesn’t have the whitest belly.

why did you put in for that unit then?
  3. 3 points
That unit doesn't seem like a packer type area. Pretty good access on roads. If you drop something in a canyon you will most likely have to pack it to horse access anyway. I've done a little riding up there around some of the canyons and horses can't just pile off anywhere. That being said the main issues for packers is there just aren't many out there in az these days and of course the game laws hinder recreational guys like me from helping unless we do it at our expense. Might be worth it to check out some of the ranches up there in the unit to see if they have Cowboys who would help close by .

I say $ 375.00 because that's what he is asking. If you want to offer less, pm him and do it. Nothing worse than guys beating a guy up on his price when they have no interest in buying it.

The 43.5 load will be up there too in pressure. The 2850 should have been a clue as well. The Creed is great but it's not a 6.5x284....

Unfortunately there are not many "Packer" services in Az. In the past when I've needed help I've hired local kids to help pack out. Most guys will help for free if beers are included with a steak dinner. I've paid a few guys over the years as well. Once you have a bull down make a post stating you need help and you will have all the help you need!!!

I am a happy grandpa. My 14 yr old grandson drew the 18a early rifle bull and my 10 yr old grandson drew unit 10 youth cow tag. Two weeks of elk hunting with my grandkids.

For the most part, I've had good luck drawing tags over the years. The exception is AZ antelope. Congrats to those who drew.
