After many unsuccessful attempts including some epic failures on the ham hunt this year I was able to tag out on my first javelina. We had them bedded down in some really thick stuff around 9:40 am. We were able to get to 123 yards and started calling. The calls got them up but not enough to get them out of the cover. Over the next several hours we would call and then wait. I had plenty of time to think about how many mess ups I had on javelina hunts in the past and kept thinking please don't mess this up. We waited patiently until approximately 2:47 pm when one of them got up and fed out of the cover to the right. At 2:48 it was over just like that. The curse was finally broken!!! 123 yards with my 6.5 creedmore did the trick. Still a little in shock that it actually worked out. Great day!!!

As usual in this type of question (Ford, Chev; Dodge, Winchester, Remington, Ruger, 3006, 308, Vw. ) you get many one time stories. What does it prove, nothing. Buy the one that fits your butt. For pulling a camper horse trailer you need at least at 1 ton whatever. Personally I buy White it doesnt show the az pinstripes as much 😀

Headed up Wednesday to drop off my trailer and knew the snow was coming. Dropped it off and head back home to Buckeye to sleep in warm bed and grab some stuff I forgot. Went back up Thursday to a chit show of snow and cold weather. Friday morning I slept in and didn’t bother to go out. It was 10 degrees, snowing, and windy. Drank some beers in the trailer till about 2 when it cleared and found some pigs right away at my first glassing spot. Dropped the biggest one I saw and the rest is history.

Drew a 37A tag along with 9 other hunting buddies. As you know Th/Fr was a complete weather phenomenon, our camp became a mud boggers paradise. Glad I brought 2 pairs of boots. One tag filled late Friday. Saturday got on them and what a blast to hunt them in the snow. Following tracks was a friggin blast. Got two more down. This morning we were able to drop 3 more. Fantastic trip, had a newbie hunter actually see some, put a stock on them yesterday and today but missed due to buck fever. He is hooked for next year. Good ole WGP making snack sticks and chorizo.

That stuck truck reminds me of an incident I had in the mid-1970s. I was driving on what was basically a DRY dirt road during the cold of winter. Came upon a spot that looked to be a frozen puddle about 20' wide. I was driving a 1/2-ton 4x4 PU with a heavy duty Warn winch on the front bumper. So I start to drive across the ice and all four wheels break through. The puddle had been about 10-12 inches deep, so the ice, which was about 1 1/2" thick came about 1/2 way up each tire. No amount of effort would move the truck; it was like driving against a 6' thick concrete wall. So I get out, unwind some winch cable and wrap it around a very large ponderosa tree. Then I got back in the truck and tried driving and winching at the same time, using the remote for the winch . All it did was break a bit of ice, then bog down again. I finally gave up and walked a mile back to a farmer friend for help. He brought his front-end loader, and we set the shovel under the trailer hitch so we could lift the rear of the truck just high enough so most of the rear tires were above ice level. It worked like a charm when we pulled it out backwards that way. Otherwise, I would have been in that hole till the ice melted.

For those that don't facebook and were curious. Kent

I hunt out of my truck and take it on some fairly rough roads. The center caps would not last long if they were left on there. They are sitting in my garage.

Not busting balls, before you start a business you must know what your target is, and you may tweak it a little but you better figure it out soon or you will fail, please don't! I like what you have but you need to get the cost of your hats way way down and don't go with no cheap hat either, anything you put your name on is an example of your business, the hat is going to be your number 1 piece of advertising, price hats very little above cost sell the crap out of them to get the name out there, just my 2 cents, good luck on your adventures

Hard to know who to believe.....I heard one scientist dude say that if you took the whole USA and wiped it completely clean off the face of the earth it would change the overall global effects by like .01 percent.........mother nature has a way of making us feel pretty insignificant!!!!

Lol I told him to go look for some cool rocks on the other side of the hill. That kept him occupied for a little while😁

I'm a Ford fanboy. IMO a solid front axle is awesome. Both of the powertrains are good but Chevy messed up with their stupid DEF tank hanging so dang low. I would not want to chance taking it offroad too much.

Imagine if we could have the science without politically slanted models. We’d know what was going on and just accept that either way we don’t have the power to reverse it.

It’s funny because every where you go they think they have the worse drivers. I’ve been around the world and I can tell you humans suck at driving.
