My wife found some really cool rocks this past weekend. We would love to know what they are. We are assuming they are some kind of Geods. They have lots of crystal like formations on them. Anyone know what they are?

Absolutely exciting news for AZ. Working in St David just south of benson the dragoons looked amazing dusted with snow! Reminds me of why I love AZ so much. If I didn't have 3 kids in for Elk I'd be real tempted to go do one of those slover the counder elk tags next weekend! (Yes, spelled wrong on purpose).

I used to use bacon or chicken and drop my traps at night and pull them first thing in the morning. I am not sure if crawdad traps are regulated the same as others that require you check them every 24 hours. If you’re in a good spot, they’ll fill up quick. No need to keep them in the water very long. They’ll start killing and eating eachother as soon as the bait is gone.

I'm just hoping that this storm finish's filling Alamo lake. I also hope this gets all the other lakes a big boost if not enough to fill them also. The desert around Kingman is looking awesome everything is saturated and alot of green grass starting to grow. Hopefully the quail will have many hatch's this spring.

I always feel that between 0800 and 1100 am is the best hillside feeding time with them heading into mid day beds around 1030 - 1130 am. Back up and feeding around 130 to 200 depending on how warm it is. I tend to glass hillsides in the early hours transition into known bedding type areas mid day and start looking in saddles on ridges afternoon.

It’s was day by day. Based on weather, Some days they were out feeding some days they were down feeding. They’re always there but their behavior is just diferant than every other game animal.

My kinda dad!! My dad got me a brand new model 70 Winchester 7mmSTW for my 12th birthday back in 1995. That was the pre rangefinder days. Hot loaded with 120gr ballistic tips I could aim right at a deer out to 450! Bump for an awesome rifle in a cool caliber!

G&f has signs up in my neighborhood (groom creek, south of Prescott) stating that bowhunters cannot shoot within 1/4 mile of an occupied structure, period. If you read the note in the regs for 20a it also says this, it’s just illegal no matter who’s permission you get. Im sure antis have something to do with it, but in talking to the neighbors it also has a lot to do with a lack of respect for private property rules. Apparently some “Hunters” feel it’s ok to drive their side by sides up and down the neighborhood streets and jump out to try to spook deer out of people’s yards so they can shoot them. This plus people having deer walk through their yards with arrows in their hams (happened this year) and other non-vital hits. i don’t know about other units, but it’s not just a problem with antis and Californians here: bow toting jackasses are equally responsible in this unit.

Just because he has a large budget doesn't mean he has to jump into a very niche do everything cartridge to begin with. There is nothing wrong with the 28 Nosler, in fact, its my favorite of the new Nosler offerings, but if it were me and I was in the market for a 7mm do anything rifle I would look at the 7mm Rem Mag and open up a whole bunch of options for factory rifles and save a ton on dies and brass.

If he wants to build or buy a custom rifle, why would you stop him from doing that?

I guess you can call it rolling over. I call it adapting to the changing world we live in. Some of the change is good, some is bad. Drawing a hard line in the sand on EVERY issue is why our country is in the mess it is in right now. I personally do not think the 1/4 mile rule is a big deal. I also do not subscribe to the give an inch they'll take a mile approach on every issue. Asking your neighbor for permission to bowhunt within 1/4 mile of their residence is not a big deal.

I brought this up on here during the comment phase of the process. No one really seemed to care, but living in the verde valley, there is a ton of hunting to do along the Verde river...or there was.
