Winchester Model 70 Featherweight 30-06 BACO version. Stock has very nice wood. Inletted sling studs like a Super Grade. Glass bedded. Ernie trigger spring installed. Leupold dual dovetail bases and rings included. Scope is not included. About 1.5" groups with Barnes Factory 150 TTSX. I have not handloaded for it. Round count is less than 100. Prefer face to face to prevent shipping and FFL costs. Located in Flagstaff. $900

Perfect way to kick off the new year! Got to our hunting spot by 9am, had two down by 11am and made it back home on time to catch some college football! This was my first Javelina kill, I've hunted them for 3 years now and was finally able to close the deal.

My 10-year old son, Evan, took this buck on Saturday 12/29/2018 on the late desert muzzy hunt. The buck was with 10 does and was running a hot one. Evan made 130 yard shot to take this mature buck for his 1st big game kill.

Didn't feel like going out this morning but when I looked outside I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Walked a couple two tracks looking for tracks just to see what the deer would be doing. Saw this guy a ways ahead of me and was able to work my way up and around pop up over a slight rise and let one fly. I knew right away he was mine. I won't say how many arrows I let fly I over the last few weeks. It felt great to finally connect. Momma even came out to take pics and help me drag him out. Now I got to help momma get one!

Manfrotto 190x for me about double your budget with the head. Buy once cry once. I'd rather have decent glass on a good tripod than great glass on a crappy tripod.

In my experience, one thing to remember, the higher you go with the tripod, the less stable it will be. Regardless of manufactuer or material. I’m 6’0 and when my tripod is set to glass while standing, I notice the little vibrations more. The tripod is much more stable at a lower profile, i.e., when you’re sitting on a chair or your butt. Just something to consider if you’re having difficulty finding a tripod tall enough for you. Plus you can glass much longer sitting down! 😎

Not sure on price but I use the Slik Carbon Fiber 634CF

Get the slik and spend the extra $25 on their center post extender. Problem solved.

I’ve grown up hunting unit 1 and 27. Have probably honestly been on 50 bull kills in those units over the years. I am in love with them and know them very well. That being said, i wouldn’t burn 22bp’s in either unit anymore. The G&F has decimated the age class since the wallow fire exposed the population. The genetics in those units are incredible and it’s really a shame what has happened. Unit 1 is trophy managed and 27 is supposed to be opportunity managed. The problem with that is a big percentage of unit 1 bulls winter in 27, where they get slaughtered in the late hunt

There are javelina in the southern part of unit 33. I just found a herd today and stuck my first one. I can not thank the people from this site enough. Big Browns is an hunting angel from above. I hope to be able to repay.

Never posted him before but this is the buck from the fish tank fire I just posted about in the campfire. It's been 6 years since I killed this buck and today was the first deer I killed since then.

I did not end up predator calling at all. However I could and should have had a coyote on the 4th day, he snuck up on me when I was sitting and glassing, was 9yrds behind me to my right, when I turned and he bolted. I had rifle ready but not able to get on him, he had a buddy 35yrds out right behind me. Then a few min later when I turned back around to watch the far hillside again his buddy popped up 20yrds away to my right and I was again unready for him. GRRRR HAHA you got lucky the Delw! People getting lost up there and tuck all the time. I live a few miles from Rodgers but over in the FP School district. Wife and both my kids went to FP. I think you did good moving out, at least compared to now. Not to get to political, but hunting, fishing, being left alone has gone to the wayside up here the last couple years. The hunting has gotten bad and everything else is getting very "CA" very very fast.
