I will let the photos do the talking on this one. Taylor and I had a blast today even though the squirrels were almost nonexistent.

DIY wyoming elk this past September was very good to us. We went 3 of 4 and all of us had multiple opportunities to make it happen. It's tough to hunt and try to film solo so don't give me crap about the footage. hahaha! Hope you guys enjoy and one day have the opportunity to hunt Wyoming. It's my 2nd hunt there and it's a special place for sure... Wade

New Manners EH5 elite tac midnight molded. Stock was inlet for a lone peak razor short action, proof sendero light barrel and Remington BDL bottom metal. Has 1/2" pad and 2 sling studs up front. Includes pillars(uninstalled). The stock has a minor flaw, a small shallow hole(size of a pencil eraser) on the side above the sling studs. I filled the hole with a little bit of epoxy. Asking $600, which is what I paid for it. New Proof Research Sendero Light carbon barrel in .264. Barrel is 24" and has a 1:8 twist. Asking $730, which is what I paid for it. If anybody is interested in both, I'd sell the combo for $1300. I was originally planning on building a 6.5 gap 4s or a Sherman short but I really don't need another custom rifle and a vexus bass boat is calling my name! Located in payson.

I know 23 very well. I found lots of bulls on the youth deer hunt and some were very good bulls. They were all in rough country but if you want some info I would be glad to share. PM me and I will drop you some pins from Google maps of some places to glass

Well, his Mom feels that the interview is more important than his elk hunt and wants him to be well rested and use that time to prepare. Pains me to say, but I don't disagree:) My plan is to locate something for him so we have a "Plan A". But, with our limited time, was just hoping someone might share a little experience.

We've started using the Helinox Chair Zero. It is 4 legged but the chair flexes on uneven ground. Weighs less than a pound and is extremely well made and strong. They're great for backpacking. https://www.amazon.com/Helinox-Chair-Zero-Black-Size/dp/B01M07GTOE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542751479&sr=8-3&keywords=helinox+chair+zero+camp+chair

Not sure why you felt the need to dump on a youth camp post. Maybe it was late. Guess it should be made clear: The chapter provides all those meals to the kids and their families for free. Chapter members volunteer a ton of time to get that camp ready, volunteer as mentors to make sure kids are safe and have the best chance possible to get a deer. There is no cost to participate in the camp.

Well we went back out to try and eleminate some more coyotes. We blanked on the first stand. Had my youngest son on shotgun duty. We drove to another area we had seen a few on the antelope hunt. My oldest son and I began to glass as this is how we had seen most of coyotes in the area. About twenty seconds into glassing I found 5 all together. We grabbed our gear and snuck into the one bush we could find. A little cotton tail in distress and we had three of the five charging in. I told my oldest son to give his younger brother a chance with the shotgun, and let them come as close as they would come. The lead dog came into 150 yards and checked up, caught our wind and left taking his two buddies with him. Upset we had three headed in and not a shot fired, my youngest said "dad you see the one by the rock?" I did a quick scan and found the one dog who was sure he was out of range. He was sitting in the middle of a rock pile and was looking back at the "bad bush". I asked my oldest for a range, to which he stated he had left the range finder back at the truck. I figured I had nothing to loose, I got down behind my my rifle found Mr. Cocky sitting on his rump giving us the stink eye. I started my squeeze, (uncontrolled jerk). That's when I realized the safety was still on. Took the safety off, and really took my time on the trigger, utilizing the hold over hash marks in my scope, and guessing the range. After the shot I was able to see the coyote was down. My sons and I than realized just how far thie shot had been. We all started giving our guesses at the range, Gage 486, Gavin 385, me 400. We went and check the dog. I hit him just behind the left shoulder an the V-Max had done its job very effectively. when we got back to the truck, Gage grabbed the range finder, and was back to the bad bush. As I walked back to him, I asked how far. Gage said 446. This was not my longest shot at a coyote, but it was the longest shot I had ever hit a coyote at. Was just lucky to have my two best hunting partners with me. The year has started off great, can't wait to see how the rest of the year go's!
