We set out on my son’s 4th Jr hunt this week. Plenty of scouting during the archery season paid off but also made for a quick hunt. Small hike into our first glassing spot and right at first light my son found 3 bucks. A friend was helping and thought the best buck was a small 2. Later we realized he was on different bucks. We had several bucks in this canyon now. After an hour my son pointed us to the bucks he found again and told us that was a tall 3x3 and he wanted to try and get to him. We closed the distance to about 600 yards and discovered his young eyes to be correct. A very nice 3x3 in full velvet. We managed another 40 yards before the canyon dropped away from us and set up for the shot. 569, one practice shot, 540, one hit. Unfortunately the buck took a nice tumble and luckily got held up on a century plant otherwise it might have found the bottom of the canyon. Most of the velvet was damaged in his fall. We didn’t realize exactly how steep and high these bucks were until we got there. It took over an hour to get down from the ridge and back up to the other side of the canyon. 1 hour+ to get 550 yards. My son loaded all the meat and the caped buck into his pack and we were back to the truck at noon. Quick work of his Jr tag. This is his 4th coues and his best to date. This deer is all his too. He found the spot, found the deer, made the move, handled the shots, and packed him out. He’s asked to have this deer mounted and I am really looking forward to having a memory of this jr hunt forever. Gavin is confident he can give us a velvet mount. Can’t wait to see how he turns out. Thanks for reading. pics coming

Winchester Model 70 Featherweight 30-06 BACO version. Stock has very nice wood. Inletted sling studs like a Super Grade. Glass bedded. Ernie trigger spring installed. Leupold dual dovetail bases and rings included. Scope is not included. About 1.5" groups with Barnes Factory 150 TTSX. I have not handloaded for it. Round count is less than 100. Prefer face to face to prevent shipping and FFL costs. Located in Flagstaff. $900

Got a short video of this guy chasing something by the camera. Didn't appear that he got it since 1 minute later he's walking by. Would have been cool to get a kill on cam.

HS Precision SPR rifle chambered in 300 WSM Pro-Series 2000 action, 3-posiiton safety 26" Sporter Magnum Contour, 10x cut rifled barrel 0.66" at muzzle, teflon coated. Tan stock with black webbing. Limbsaver recoil pad added. Bases and 1"rings included. Scope is not included. Action/bedding block has been skim bedded. Barrel has been recrowned (yep, sling slipped off the shoulder and it landed muzz first) Detachable magazine holds 2 rounds comfortably, 3 is tight. Round count is about 800 per my load data. This rifle shoots well with 180 and 200 gr Accubonds (5-shot groups hover at an inch, best 3-shot is 0.230) https://www.hsprecision.com/shop2/firearms/hunting-rifles/american-rifle-spr/ Note the stock on this rifle is like the SPL model shown on the website, not the one shown now on the SPR. $1300 face to face. (New rifles are currently priced at $3500)

Here’s a couple archery bulls I helped with in New Mexico I know nobody likes the tramp stamp, but that’s the way things are now unfortunately.

Looks like the Rim Area is going to get quite a bit of rain next week. My son will be staying in Pine all week and scouting 22 for our turkey hunt so I better give him my tow strap and shovel. Don't a little rain but a couple of inches isn't welcome.

I paid a $1000 for mine, but that was like 5-6 yrs ago. Still haven’t seen my rug yet. Definitely check references. My guy was Kip Love, but he fled up to Utah

Seems fair to me. Seems like you are trying to get a free hunt for just the annual fee. I get it, ZERO may be misleading....I’m a member for deer and I’m applying for an archery strip tag. I started with 4 points. When i draw, ill pay them $1,500 plus the $175 a year until i draw. Even if it takes me 10 years to draw I’ll only be out $3,250. That’s probably $2,000 cheaper than i could buy that hunt for now. Not counting for inflation in 10 years. My 2nd choice is late 12AW. Also started with 4 points. If i draw that tag at any time my hunt is fully paid for. There are quite a few options that are in fact ZERO fee. Seems like a very fair concept to me.

Thanks everyone! I am still in disbelief that things actually worked out! This was the best picture I got. I forgot my little phone clip at the truck so I just wedged my phone in between my back frame and bag and took some pics.

Not sure why people want to kill these little guys. Not much meat on them, Elk are a freezer full.😏

Just go to any unit and fire a 6.5cm at a random mountainside. The bullet is guaranteed to only hit a monster buck.

My 2017 central Az buck is all finished and home. Love it. Can’t wait to find another. 131 gross 127 net and all officially scored and submitted. Waiting for the 2018 season to end to see if this typical will receive any awards from B&C.

Here is a bull our hunter Randy Hopp, from Newberg Oregon took a few years ago on his hunt in Unit 23N. Randy had taken many bulls in the past, all over the U.S., but had never taken one that had more than 6 points on one side. Whey they saw this guy, it was DONE! Don Martin Arizona Wildlife Outfitters
