northAZarcher Report post Posted July 24, 2017 In you opinion, what would the best muzzle brake to purchase? Looking to put on a 300 wsm. Tikka. Want to see if my 12 year old could possibly use my rifle for her hunt this year. Thx
lancetkenyon Report post Posted July 24, 2017 Taylor used my .300RUM for her elk hunt when she was 12. Thinking your contour is pretty light, I like the APA Micro Bastard brake. I have 1 on a 7RM, and putting another one on my 6.5 SS. Both have #3 Bartlein barrels. Badger Thruster is good too, but you can't turn them down to blend that small. I am putting a Hawkins 3 port on my .280AI. There are a few different sizes to blend with various contours.
azhuntnut Report post Posted July 24, 2017 I have ordered several from here and the machining and quality are very good. A buddy of mine showed his gunsmith a few and he started using them for his customers. If I remember correctly they were less than $50 a piece. Smith2260 Report post Posted July 24, 2017 We have the micro bastard on our 300wsm. My 13 year old daughter loves to shoot it. Literally no kick. She jokes and says the .22 kicks more

wbyfireman Report post Posted July 24, 2017 I use an APA Little Bastard on my .338 Lapua and it feels no more than a .308 win shooting 285gr pills at high pressures. Those who hate them don't shoot a 338 Lapua as their primary hunting caliber!! I never bought into them till I used one, no fear of recoil resulting in a more controlled trigger pull, and seeing impact hits at distant ranges in order to make educated follow up shots are just a couple of advantages I have discovered. I also NEVER shoot without hearing protection when on the range and also when hunting so that does away with the noise issue.

I absolutely LOVE silencers however the extra weight when hunting always seems to be my concern.
northAZarcher Report post Posted July 24, 2017 Thanks everyone for the responses. I will take a look at all the posted ones and reviews. And the offer to shoot with silencer. Not sure when I will be down south. Especially with the heat!😁 But will let you know if it's anytime soon! Appreciate the offer!
Titanium700 Report post Posted July 25, 2017 Count me as a muzzle brake hater.Whys that?2 reasons. I really enjoy my hearing and don't wear earplugs while hunting and I don't need a super magnum elephant rifle to kill a 100 lb deer.
